Nick Gordon is facing murder charges that hold him responsible for Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death. Bobbi Kristina Brown’s court-appointed conservator is not waiting on the criminal investigation against Nick Gordon – they are going full bore with damning new allegations in an amendment to their already horrifying initial lawsuit. In the amendment, the conservator accuses Nick Gordon of dosing Bobbi Kristina Brown with a “toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage.”
The conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, issued this statement: “I am deeply saddened by the recent death of Bobbi Kristina Brown. I extend my sincerest condolences to all of her family. Consistent with and to the letter of the civil action I initially filed on behalf of Bobbi Kristina, we will continue to pursue justice for her. I have filed today an amended complaint against Nicholas Gordon adding a count for wrongful death and for pain and suffering. We will leave no stone unturned in seeking justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown.”
Not only will this much harsher lawsuit force Nick Gordon to answer questions in civil court about his actions on January 31st that led to Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death, but it puts immense pressure on state and local law enforcement to step up their criminal investigation and consider more serious criminal charges against Nick Gordon. The amended lawsuit now states that Nick Gordon returned to Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Atlanta townhome at 6 am after an “all-night… cocaine and drinking binge.”
The suit goes on to say that Gordon then reviewed camera surveillance footage of Bobbi Kristina Brown then began a loud argument with her where Nick Gordon called her a “whore” and a “bitch.” They argued, allegedly, for 30 minutes then it became silent, likely after Nick Gordon drugged her. The suit claims he dragged her into the bathroom and put her face down in a tub then changed his clothes and laid down on the bed with a woman who was also in the house and told her “Now I want a pretty little white girl like you.”
Then it was roughly 15 minutes later when someone else, likely Max Lomas, found Bobbi Kristina in the bathtub face down. The person that found her claimed she was unconscious and unresponsive, her mouth was swollen and one of her teeth was hanging loose. They also noticed that there was a dustpan lying in the tub – this could indicate a struggle to get her into the tub that knocked over nearby objects. The lawsuit claims then that Nick Gordon came in and let the water out of the tub and told the other people present to “clean up, clean up.”
It was at this point that 911 was called and CPR was attempted. Bobbi Kristina Brown was revived by medical personnel then transported to North Fulton Hospital where she was placed in a medically induced coma to try and reverse the swelling of her brain. She was later moved to Emory University Hospital then Peachtree Christian Hospice where she expired as a result of her injuries and, possibly, the “toxic cocktail” Nick Gordon is accused of having given Bobbi Kristina Brown.
This lawsuit seems to rely on witnesses, likely friends of Bobbi Kristina Brown, who were routinely in their home and who have been interviewed recently by investigators. These witnesses said they saw Nick Gordon punch Bobbi Kristina Brown several days before this incident. The lawsuit claims she was on the couch when Nick Gordon struck her and the blow was so severe that the sofa broke and she was knocked to the floor and that he continued to attack Bobbi Kristina Brown by “hitting her in the face until she was bloody.”
The suit then adds that in this same attack, Nick Gordon kicked Bobbi Kristina repeatedly in her side so that “she was on the floor screaming and curled up in a fetal position.” Witnesses quoted in the suit say that one of her teeth was knocked out in this brutal assault. The suit says that Nick Gordon then dragged her upstairs by the hair but then later told those that witnessed the attack “I don’t do this often.” Often? Often? So by not often that means that Nick Gordon was admitting to attacking her brutally occasionally.
An Atlanta legal analyst said of the amended suit, “Lawyers are ethically prohibited from alleging things in a lawsuit unless they have support. This lawsuit accuses him [Nick Gordon] of murder.” This commentary implies that the suit would not have been modified without evidence to support the allegations in the suit. The analyst also added that the amended lawsuit was likely intended to force the criminal case to move forward faster than it has been.
Since Nick Gordon has no visible means of support now that he’s without Bobbi Kristina Brown’s cash flow supplied by her mother Whitney Houston’s estate, the $10-$40 million in damages the suit is seeking is not the point. The point is to publicly expose evidence that will force law enforcement to move forward and charge him. It also indicates that finally the people that stood by and watched Nick Gordon assault Bobbi Kristina Brown are finally doing what they should have done before – holding him accountable for his (allegedly) violent actions.
It’s just a shame they failed to do so before Bobbi Kristina Brown died. What kind of friends are those?
