It seems any hope of recovery is fading fast for Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston. Doctors recently tried to bring Bobbi Kristina out of a medically-induced coma, but she suffered seizures as they tried to wean her off the medications. They had no choice but to put Bobbi Kristina back on the powerful drugs. As a result, the Browns may be back at square one in terms of their options. A source close to the Brown family says that it’s been “the longest month of our whole life.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive in her bathtub on January 31 and there have been no major improvements in her condition. The recent setback has caused many to wonder if Bobbi Kristina could really regain consciousness. Eli Zimmerman, a neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital who has not treated Bobbi, offered his expert opinion to People Magazine. Dr. Zimmerman noted that patients like Bobbi Kristina are often placed into medically-induced comas for extended periods of time to allow their brains to heal. However, “if the brain has been irritated by injury, it may go into seizures once the medication is stopped.”
The extent of Bobbi Kristina’s brain injury is unknown, but the prognosis looks grim. The latest rumors hint that Bobby Brown may decide to end life support if Bobbi Kristina doesn’t improve by her 22nd birthday on March 4. A Brown family member indicated that the Browns “have some clarity now.” The source wouldn’t share what the Browns have learned, but it seems like they’re accepting the fact that Bobbi Kristina may never wake up. The Brown family member added that they know “where things stand” and “in some ways, that’s a comfort.”
Bobby Brown has been adamant that he would keep Bobbi Kristina alive by any means necessary, but perhaps he’s starting to realize that it might not be the best decision. Some reports have stated that Bobbi Kristina’s organs are starting to fail. It seems her body is slowly beginning to shut down. At some point, the Browns may just have to face the facts and admit that Bobbi Kristina is gone.
