Celebrity chef Bobby Flay and wife Stephanie March’s divorce has been officially settled – and it looks like Stephanie March made out like a bandit. When the couple first split, Stephanie’s lawyer refused the original alimony agreement based on the couple’s prenuptial agreement on the grounds that Bobby Flay had cheated on her while they were married. And, it looks like the allegations had some truth to them, because Bobby Flay backed down and coughed up more money to his ex-wife.
According to an all new report from TMZ, “Sources close to the situation tell us that the negotiations between the two were tough, but ultimately Stephanie held the cards because Bobby did not want a trial, especially since she alleged cheating in her divorce documents.” Although it is unclear exactly how much money Stephanie scored in the divorce – TMZ is reporting that it is way more than the $5,000 a month for the next 5 years plan that Bobby Flay was pushing from their original prenup.
Of course Bobby Flay didn’t want to go to trial, Stephanie March was rumored to have proof that he not only cheated on her with his fellow celeb chef Giada DiLaurentiis – but also his much younger personal assistant. And, the messy divorce and cheating allegations were doing nothing for Bobby’s image. Someone flew a plane with the banner “Cheater!” on it over his Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremony after their divorce story broke. So, it’s safe to say that a trial could potentially destroy his career.
Sadly, we will probably never hear exactly what went down between Stephanie March or Bobby Flay and the exact details of the cheating. There is most likely a clause in the divorce agreement banning Stephanie from doing any interviews or tell-all books on the scandal, or else she could lose her alimony.
