Bruce Jenner has finally confirmed that he is a woman in an exclusive interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer which aired on April 24. Not that we all didn’t know about Bruce’s transformation – but it was still shocking to hear it finally come out of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star’s own mouth. Although Bruce Jenner answered so many questions we had regarding his transgender journey during his interview – we still have so many more. Like what will Bruce’s female name be?
Once news broke that Bruce Jenner was becoming a woman – rumors began flying around the Internet about his new name. The one name that kept popping up was Belinda, and multiple sources insisted that was what the reality TV star would call himself after his transgender surgery was complete. But, our friends at Gossip Table got the lowdown and according to Bruce’s ex-wife, Belinda is just a silly rumor and Bruce has already decided to change his name to Heather.
Bruce’s ex-wife Linda Thompson Foster revealed, “Bruce considered traveling out of the country, possibly to Denmark, to have the gender-confirmation surgery and then come back to the U.S. identifying as female. I asked Bruce, “What about the children?” He thought maybe he could reenter their lives as “Aunt Heather.” It sounds like “Aunt Heather” has been many years in the making – and in all actuality Bruce looks much more like a Heather than he does a Belinda.
In other news, Bruce Jenner is on a mission to bring more awareness to transgenders and their struggles, and he thinks that his interview with Diane Sawyer was a major stepping-stone in that direction. According to the insiders at Gossip Table, Bruce Jenner’s bombshell interview was just the beginning – he actually plans to open a school for transgenders! A close pal of Jenner’s dished, “Bruce see’s this as a second chance and is embracing the challenge. No more hiding, he wants to use his fame and wealth to make a big difference. He is talking about building a school for transgender youth.”
