Celine Dion is feeding her dying husband Rene Angelil through a feeding tube three times each day as he is unable to eat. Celine Dion will be returning to her Las Vegas residency later this year, even though her husband [and manager] Rene Angelil is still battling throat cancer. However, Celine is clearly having a hard time dealing with her husband’s health problems, while also determining the future of her career.
In an interview with ABC’s Deborah Roberts, Celine broke down about her husband’s failing health, explaining, “He can’t eat so I feed him. He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day.”
46-year-old Celine Dion took a year off to nurse her ailing husband back to health, but it doesn’t seem to have made much difference. Rene Angelil is still battling throat cancer, and Celine Dion is still breaking down in tears every time she talks about it. She does say that they are trying to remain positive, adding, “We are taking life one day at a time. [But] we are choosing to live.”
Easier said than done, right? If her husband’s health is this bad, it’s surprising that Celine even chose to return to Las Vegas, especially with such excessive media coverage. Her husband’s on a feeding tube, and Celine is going to be performing in Vegas? Or do they assume that he’ll be better by then? Or worse, does Celine not have a choice? Granted, that last one’s extremely unlikely because of Celine Dion’s massive fortune – she never NOT has a choice, especially since she has millions of dollars at her disposal.
