Tonight is the #DanceMoms reunion show – Seeing Stars. Executive Producer Jeff Collins hosts. He talks about ALDC leaving Pittsburgh and heading to LA. He welcomes Abby Lee Miller and congratulates her on the big win at the last competition. Abby says they’re not leaving Pittsburgh but are expanding and says it will be ALDC LA. Jeff asks about her conflict with Holly and Abby says you can only go so long in the shadow of someone else’s spotlight.
Abby says Nia’s day will come and says kids being jealous of Maddie makes them work harder. Holly comes out next and takes a seat. Holly says Abby has a skewed way of looking at the situation and says Abby did a lot of things wrong. She mentions Abby saying only a couple of kids would book jobs. Jeff says Holly seems more upset than ever before.
He shows a clip where Holly is accusing Abby of not protecting Nia’s reputation. Then he plays the clip of Abby saying Maddie and Mackenzie will book work in LA. Holly says she wants them to be loyal to her then talks about their kids that way. Abby says she has backed Nia up with her pathetic feet for years and Holly tells her to stop it then calls her an ass.
Jeff asks Holly what upset her the most. Holly says Abby goes after the kids when they have a conflict. Abby agrees and says the child is their student and already knows the truth. Abby says Nia is turning out mean like her mom. Holly rants a bunch. Then Jeff asks about which kids would work. Abby says the photographer is a friend of hers she’s known for years and Holly says that doesn’t explain anything.
Jeff asks what one thing Abby could do and Holly says she just wants Abby to treat Nia with expect. Then Jeff asks Abby the same thing and she says nothing for a moment then says no. Holly says Abby has tried to punish her in different ways. Abby says Holly has called her ugly, wicked and evil and says she doesn’t want to socialize with her. Holly says she can take her toys and go break them.
Jeff asks Holly about her favorite ALDC memories in Pittsburgh. She says she and Abby used to have a good relationship and talks about some of Nia’s award winning solos. Jeff then introduces the girls doing their Orange is the New Black inspired dance Stomp the Yard. Jeff then asks Holly about the other moms not supporting her. Holly says their friendship ends with what Abby wants.
Holly says Abby can manipulate them based on fear and says Abby relishes that. Jeff then calls Jill and Melissa out. Jill says their friendship isn’t based on fear and says she’s afraid of consequences and Holly says that’s the same thing. Melissa says Abby is Abby and she likes to rule the world and Abby says she rules her dance company and the kids.
Jeff then shows the clip of Holly calling Abby a liar and then screaming at the moms and calling them cowards and says they let Abby lie. Then she stomped out. Melissa says she’s not a coward and is grateful for opportunities. Holly says Melissa agrees with the moms until Abby is there. Melissa says Holly thinks she’s more educated than them and says Jill overheard her telling Nia that.
Melissa says Holly called their kids simple. Holly screams and says she never said that and yells. She says it’s not right and not true. Melissa says she’s not a strong woman like Holly and Holly says she gave Abby a lot of credit for her opportunities. Abby says Holly can go to another studio and Holly says she’s not going anywhere then Abby says to stop complaining and shut up.
Abby says she doesn’t know her place as a woman. Jill says Holly’s place is where she wants it to be. Abby says Holly screaming at casting directors isn’t appropriate. Abby tells her to take this out the door. Holly says she takes action as a momager when Abby fails to take action as a manager. Jeff then talks about the competing music videos of Kendall and Nia.
Jeff says the videos caused a lot of tension. Jill says Holly had everyone in LA working for her and she has Abby. Abby says it didn’t even look like Nia and Holly says Abby wants to tear it apart because she wasn’t involved. Abby says the video wasn’t appropriate and says now she can’t take Nia to Nickelodeon or Disney. Jeff asks Melissa about Maddie’s video and if there’s a double standard.
Melissa says that was a manager decision. Jeff asks Melissa about her best memories. Melissa says the studio is her second home and she even worked there for a while and says she watched the kids grow up and says Maddie has a special bond with Abby and says Mackenzie had to work harder to get Abby’s approval. Jeff calls out the girls to perform Freak Show.
Jeff then introduces Kira and Jessalynn. He asks Kira about her being rough on Jess and JoJo then shows a clip of Kira going off on JoJo’s diva behavior and asking for free stuff. Kira says she knows JoJo and can take it and they’ve known each other a long time. Abby says sometimes a kid needs poked out and says she loves JoJo but says she thinks Jess is doing detrimental harm to her.
She says Jess needs to get her a speech therapist and says she needs to get her into school. Jess says JoJo is in sixth grade when she should be in sixth grade. Jess admits JoJo has only been in school for one semester and thinks JoJo has a serious hearing problem that hasn’t been treated. Jeff says JoJo has a lot of personality then shows a clip of Abby yelling at JoJo and saying she’s not entitled to anything.
JoJo cried and Abby kicked her out then Jess told her to go back and say sorry. Melissa says their kids wouldn’t do that because they know Abby. Abby says Mackenzie wouldn’t say things back to her because she knows better now. She says the kids shouldn’t be afraid of her but should respect her and listen to her. Jill says she’ll miss the fun times the moms have had in Pittsburgh.
She says they used to have girls night out and took Abby out speed dating. They show Abby on a speed date talking about how she did it on a 50 yard line. Then Jeff introduces JoJo doing her Carrie tribute called Prom Queen.
Jeff asks Kira if she’s happy with the way Abby is managing Kalani’s career. Kira says she doesn’t really understand managing and then Jill breaks in and says Kira needs her kid to be seen with them. This annoys Kira who says she’s at ALDC because Kalani loves Kira. Then Jeff talks about Cathy and Jill says Cathy keeps trying to find a team that beat them.
Cathy comes out with her bullhorn and then Jill pushes her bullhorn away. Jill says only Cathy would be that way and calls her a loser. Cathy tells Jeff you have to be loud and obnoxious to fight loud and obnoxious which is why she brings the megaphone. She says the best part of competition is rattling Abby and says that’s the win. Abby says that’s sad. Cathy laughs and says she finds Abby annoying.
Jeff talks about Vivi’s adoption and citizenship that she shared in dance. Cathy says they waited until Vivi was old enough to understand her citizenship. Jeff then calls out Maddie to perform her solo All God’s Creatures. Jeff then talks about Jeanette and Abby says she was never part of the team. Holly says the same thing. Abby then fake cries and makes fun of Jeanette and says she’s a user.
Abby says she’s not a user. Then Jeff brings out Jeanette. Jeanette says Abby is using Maddie for fame. Melissa says she doesn’t get that. Abby says – how dare you. Then Jeanette rants about the terrible things she’s said about Ava and says she has done a lot for Abby. Jeff asks Jeanette about the stalker thing and Jeanette says she was told to go to certain places for Abby.
Then Jeanette talks about Ava’s win and says it’s about time. She says Ava has been working hard and says all of the hurtful things that Abby has said inspired Ava by hurting her deeply. Jeanette says Ava hugged her and Abby ripped the jacket off of her. Melissa says that wasn’t nice and Jeanette was being punished for bringing her there when she wasn’t invited. Holly says this is like what Abby does to Nia.
Jeanette says she’ll keep competing against Abby and says beating her is the only thing that shuts Abby up. Then Jeff introduces the girls doing their Frozen-inspired number Frozen Together. Jeff asks Abby what will happen with the Pittsburgh studio while she’s in LA. Abby says it will still be there and says there is sweat and blood there and Cathy says – and stinkbugs too.
Abby says she trained kids there that have been in 17 Broadway shows and Cathy asks why that number doesn’t grow. Abby says it will be 18 in another two weeks when she makes an announcement. Abby says she will keep the Pittsburgh studio before she loves it. Abby says when she thinks about all the kids who have grown up in the studio and the kids on the time, she says they have done over 400 routines.
Jeff shows a flashback montage of a lot of the routines. Cathy says she may go out to LA to challenge her since she has a great team right now and says she can beat them. Abby says the team is leaving for Ireland then Australia and she has master classes, a showcase where the girls will perform too. All the moms and kids are going and Holly qualifies that saying not all of them are invited to all the private events.
Abby says some of the moms work for her at events and Cathy says they sling t-shirts. Jeanette says she saw things posted without Nia or JoJo. Holly says Nia’s photo was on the ALDC tour and now isn’t included. Cathy asks Holly why she would go down under to exclude her. Holly says if Nia isn’t included she will make her own opportunities for Nia as she did in LA.
Abby says maybe Nia can come and Holly can stay home. Holly says no and says she can’t trust Abby with Nia. Abby says she needs to knock being a mini me of her mom out of Nia. Jeff ends the show there.
THE END!
