Now it is time for the series premiere of ABC’s all new show “Dance Battle America.” The premise of the show all started on social media, when Maria Menounos and her family challenged Derek Hough and Julianne Hough, it wasn’t long before it went viral and people across the world started doing the dance battle challenges. ABC chose the eight best teams from their internet videos, and they will be going head to head on the “Dance Battle America” stage for the grand prize.
“Dance Battle America” hosts Alfonso Ribera and Jordin Sparks take the stage, they each have hand-selected four teams from across America – and they will be battling each other on the stage tonight. The studio audience will be voting live to decide which team nailed the dance battle.
Up first is Silver Classix Crew (three women over the age of 60) VS. Smash ( a pro dancing team from North Carolina – all under the age of 20). So, it doesn’t exactly seem like a very fair match-up. But, it doesn’t matter which team has the best moves – it depends on which team the audience likes the most. Smash and Silver Classix Crew take the stage and battle to Andy Grammer’s popular song “Honey, I’m Good.”
Alfonso is certain that his team Silver Classix Crew is going to beat Jordin’s team Smash. Now, it’s time to reveal the audience’s votes, the results are in and the winner of the battle is Smash. Silver Classix Crew is officially eliminated from the competition.
The next “Dance Battle America” match-up is The Hoffman Family VS. The Adams Family. Alfonso’s team The Adams and Jordin’s team The Hoffmans take the stage and battle to MC Hammer’s hit song “Can’t Touch This.” After their performance it is time to learn which family the audience thinks nailed their perfomances, according to the live voting the winner of the dance battle is The Adams Family, that means that the Hoffmans have been eliminated for the dancing competition.
Now, it’s time for a battle of the sexes. Up next on “Dance Battle America” is Team Alaska (an all girl team) and Team energy (an all guy team). Alfonso’s team Energy and Jordin’s team Alaska take the stage and battle to “Shake It Off.” After their bizarre dancing dressed as snow bunnies and fire fighters, it is time to learn what the audience thought. The votes are in, and
Team Liquid Feet and The Retired Cheerleaders are the next two teams to battle on the “Dance Battle America” Stage. Liquid Feet has no dance competition, so it will be interesting to see them battle against retired New England Patriots cheerleaders. Although, they have been retired since 2011 so they may be a little bit out of shape. Alfonso and Jordan’s teams hit the stage and battle dance to Katy Perry’s hit song “Firework.”
After their performance the choreographer Kristen raves that the Retired Cheerleaders definitely scored a touch down. Now, it’s time to get the results – according to the audience’s live votes Alfonso’s Retired Cheerleaders are the winner, that mean Jordin’s team Liquid Feet is eliminated from the competition.
After tonight’s first night of dance battles, the four winning teams are: Smash, The Adams Family, Energy, and The Retired Cheerleaders are safe. Now, the audience has to vote one more time to choose the best team of the night.
After tallying the votes, Jordin’s team Smash are the official winners of the night and the “Dance Battle America” ultimate champions. They win a free trip to Atlantis Paradise Resort in the Bahamas.
