‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Alison Sweeney On Sami Brady’s DOOL Return – “It’s Not Definite”

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers and casting news sent the DOOL rumor mill in to overdrive this week on the internet with claims that Alison Sweeney was returning to the NBC soap as the iconic character Sami Brady. Alison Sweeney confirmed that she was exiting the soap in 2014, and after the other half of her super couple EJ DiMera was killed off, the popular Salemite packed up her bags and her kids and jetted off to Hollywood to work on a movie about her life.

Since Alison Sweeney exited “Days of Our Lives,” there have been whisperings of her return, and a lot of DOOL fans are hoping that she will return to the NBC soap to improve the ratings and stir up some drama. The February 16th edition of Soap Opera Digest created a frenzy on social media and message boards when it hit newsstands and the cover showed a picture of Sweeney titled, “Alison Sweeney In Talks To Return To Days.”

Sadly, the cover story was nothing more than bait – enticing soap fans to purchase the magazine. Once you read the article inside, you will see that Alison Sweeney is “in talks” to return to “Days of Our Lives.” But, not in the way that the cover implied. Alison Sweeney dished to the magazine that she is currently working on a slew of new projects including the Hallmark movie series “Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder,” and another movie titled “Radio Hype.” Sweeney confirmed in her interview that she has discussed returning for the “Days of Our Lives” 50th Anniversary episode, which will not air until November 2015 – however that it not even definite.

So is Alison Sweeney returning to “Days of Our Lives?” Maybe – but if she does it will only be for one episode, and not until this Fall.
