“Days of Our Lives” spoilers tease that several new characters will be headed to Salem by spring of 2016. According to SID, DOOL just put out a casting call for six short-term roles that will begin taping in November. After all Days characters are dying and fleeing at a remarkable rate!
Depending on the actual dates they film, that should put these characters on your screen sometime during April or May. Perhaps some of them will be involved in a storyline for May sweeps. Whatever the case, it should be interesting to see a few new faces thrown in the mix. “Days” seems to be making an effort to keep things fresh and fun.
First, they’ll be adding to the teen scene. We already have Joey (James Lastovic) in town and four more adolescents are on the way thanks to SORASing. The current casting call says that group will be joined by Mark, a 17-18-year-old jock. Mark will be “gorgeous” and quite popular, but he’ll have a rebellious streak. DOOL plans on making that a response to Mark’s strict dad, who’s a judge. This maverick sounds like he’d be right up Ciara’s (Vivian Jovanni) alley.
“Days of Our Lives” is also on the hunt for a male in the 38-45 age range, who is—you guessed it, “gorgeous.” That appears to be the top requirement for nearly any casting call. This hunk will be Hal, the father of a 19-year-old girl. Speaking of hunks, we’ll get one who’s between the ages of 38-46 as well. He’ll be Clark, the “hot bad boy.” It looks like we’ve got some real eye candy coming up.
As for the ladies, they’re searching for someone to play Simone, who’s beautiful and a bit of a hippie. They’re hoping to find a woman in her late 30s who’s African American, Asian or Hispanic. Simone will be a recurring role for a chick who apparently marches to the beat of her own drum. In addition, there’s a casting call for Dr. Robinson, an African American or Asian psychiatrist in the 40-50 age range.
To round out the newbies, we’ll see a 50-55-year-old man named Judge Avery. Maybe Judge Avery will be Mark’s father or at least a friend of his dad’s. We actually get a little sneak peek at the storyline on this one. Judge Avery’s property will be vandalized by unruly teens.
There’s a good chance that rebellious Mark will be tangled up in that. What else could all these casting calls bring? Time will tell, but the rumors hint that big drama lies ahead. Stick with “Days of Our Lives” for updates on the stories to come.
