#FearTWD begins with Travis, Liza and Chris at the Salazar’s shop hiding out as the riot rages around them in the streets. Travis peeks out and sees people in confrontation with the cops then Chris spots a guy with dead eyes and is startled. Travis tells him to get away from the windows. At home, Madison lowers the lights and then takes a dose of pills to Nick. Alicia hears a noise.

Madison reassure the kids that Travis is coming then they’ll leave. Chris asks why they can’t leave now and they hear people breaking into the business next door. Travis says they’re safe here because there’s nothing to steal at the barber shop and says the police will clear them soon. He asks to use the Salazar’s phone. Chris pockets a straight razor but Mr Salazar says to put it back.

Mr Salazar tells Travis that there’s more than combs here. Travis asks what they can do if they break in and Salazar says they run. Chris says the wall is getting hot. Looks like the place next door is on fire. They put on jackets and Liz, Travis and Chris prepare to make a run for the truck. The Salazars also get ready to run. They open the door but then rioters push inside and start smashing up the place.

Chris sees a cop knock down someone and start eating them. They take off at a run the other way. The Salazars also run. It’s chaos and cops in riot gear block their way. Madison gets out Monopoly to distract them. Travis, Chris and Liza run for the truck. The streets are insane. The cops unleash a fire hose and a scaffold falls over trapping Mrs Salazar under it. They beg for help.

They lift it and Travis picks her up. They pile into his truck with the Salazars in the back with Liza offering first aid. They turn the truck around and speed off. Liza tells Travis they need a doctor – looks like the woman’s foot was crushed. Madison and the kids play Monopoly then they hear gun shots. Alicia asks how long they’re going to wait and Madison says they should sleep soon.

Travis drives past a hospital but there’s an ambulance crashed outside and people running out of the building screaming. They wonder what’s going on. They see cops firing on people coming out of the hospital. They have to drive past. Travis asks what’s plan B and she says another hospital but Mr Salazar says they’ll all be like that. He asks where he can drop them.

Salazar says to take them to his house and he’ll have his cousin pick them up there. They watch as the lights of LA begin to go dark until it’s blackness all around. Nick asks what if Travis doesn’t come back and then the lights go out. They argue over who will put the game away and Madison turns on a flashlight. Nick says they can’t stay since she knows what’s out there.

Nick says Travis went with his ex wife but she says he went to get his kid. Alicia hears a noise and they go look out the window. Nick tells them to get away from the windows and pulls Madison away. They call Alicia over to them and then they stand in the living room. They hear a noise at the door and Nick tells them to be quiet. He opens the curtain and sees a dog. He lets the dog inside and they see blood.

The dog then runs off barking at the other door. They see someone out front who looks sick. They run out of their house to the neighbor’s place that they know has a gun. They climb over the fence and he finds their spare key. They head inside but no one is home. The lights flicker on and they look around the house. Nick checks a closet for the gun as the lights flicker back off.

Nick finds it and says they need shells. They look around for the ammo. Alicia walks around the house as Madison finds the shells. Madison says to give her the rifle. They hear the dog barking outside. Alicia looks out the window and calls to her mom. She says someone is inside their house. Madison loads the shotgun. They hear the dog barking then crying out. They see headlights.

She thinks it’s Travis and tries to call him to warn him. The cell network is down. They run outside to try and stop them from going inside. Too late – Travis went inside and he calls out for Madison. Travis says the car is in the driveway and they must be there. They see someone in the house eating the dog. He tells Chris and Liza to get back. He creeps closer to the infected.

The lights come on and Travis tells Liza to get Chris into the car now. It’s one of the neighbors, Peter, and he comes at Travis. He knocks him down. Madison hears them yelling and tells Nick to hand her the gun. The idiots left the shotgun shells. Travis fights off Pete as Alicia goes back for the shells. She sees an open bottle of pills on the table and then sees feet below a swinging door. She runs out of the house.

Madison runs in with the gun and Salazar snatches it and shoots the guy. It doesn’t kill him. He snarls and comes for them. Salazar puts the gun to his head and shoots off the top half of his head. He finally stops. Alicia runs but the woman catches up with her. They hear her screaming and fighting her off. She gets over the fence and to safety.

They see the neighbor snarling and reaching for them. Alicia asks what’s matter with Susan. Nick says she’s not sick, she’s dead. They had been keeping this all secret from Alicia. She gets it and says Matt isn’t like that. She begs her mom to tell her that. Travis asks why Nick said it and he says it’s the truth. Susan snarls and reaches through the fence for them.

Chris had his nose hurt from where he tried to pull Alicia over the fence and she fought him because she was scared. Travis says he doesn’t think it’s broken and the lights come back on. Chris asks what was wrong with those people. His dad says people are getting sick. Chris asks if they will but he says they’ll be all right. He says to come on so they can all talk.

Liza binds Mrs Salazar’s foot and asks if they have any pain medicine. He says just aspirin. Mr Salazar says his cousin will be there to get them in the morning. Travis says they’ll leave in the morning but Madison says they need to leave now. She says it’s getting worse and they’re packed and ready. Alicia says she wants to go. Travis says it’s dark and they don’t know if the roads are passable.

He says they’ll lock down and wait it out for the night. Madison says if they’re going to stay, he has to take care of Peter the dead neighbor. He hauls the guy outside wrapped up in a rug. Salazar suggests burning the body but Travis says no. Salazar says burning him will keep the sickness from spreading. Travis says they don’t know how it spreads.

Salazar says he gets that he knew the man and Travis says Peter didn’t deserve this. Inside, Liza is at the sink and she tells Travis it’s true that they don’t die and keep coming back. She talks about how she wanted to go to med school to be a doctor and says the woman’s foot tissue is dying and says the infection will poison her blood and she’ll die. Travis says it won’t come to that.

Liza says no one is there to fix it. Salazar’s daughter says they should go with them tomorrow but he says no. He closes the door and says this is the wrong time to be in someone else’s debt. She says she knows there is no cousin since their family is all buried in El Salvador. He says her mother needs to rest tonight and she insists they need to go with the other family. Her mother says to listen to her dad.

She’s annoyed and steps out. Madison watches out the window at some infected. She tells Travis she has enough pills to help Nick and to give to her Mrs Salazar. He says he had to bring the Salazars since they took them in during the riot. He tells her sorry that she had to see Salazar shoot the neighbor but she says he had to do it. Liza talks to Madison later and says she doesn’t want to cause problems.

Liza says she knows they’re not friends but says they should support each other for the sake of the kids. Madison tells her that Susan is the woman outside. She says she used to babysit Nick and Alicia and helped her after her husband died. Liza says she sounds like a good friend. Madison says if she ends up like that, to kill her so Travis wouldn’t have to do it. She says it would break him.

Next day, Travis digs a grave while Susan snarls at him through the fence. He buries Pete then hauls their trashcans to the street. He sees a neighbor doing the same. Daniel explains to Chris how the shotgun works, how to load it and the difference between the types of shells. He says the double aught will stop something big. Travis asks what he’s doing and tells Chris to go pack the truck.

He’s annoyed but Daniel says it will keep him safer. Madison says she didn’t see the harm and Travis says she knows how he feels about guns. Salazar says God doesn’t care how he feels. They are packed and ready to go but Madison says she has one more thing to do. She takes a hammer and goes to the fence. She speaks to Susan who continues to snarl and reach.

Travis comes over and she says what would it be like if Travis came home and found her like that. She wonders if Patrick is dead already. He says he doesn’t know. Daniel watches them through the window. Madison asks what is she. Travis says her friend but Madison says she’s dead. Travis says it’s not her call to make and says she shouldn’t do something that can’t be undone. He tries to take the hammer.

Madison walks away. Daniel sees this and says “weak.” They finish loading Madison’s car and Nick says he needs a couple more pills. She hands him two more and he asks if that’s all they have. She says she gave the rest to Griselda and he asks why. Nick says she’s a stranger and Madison says she’s in pain. Nick says he is too. Madison promises to help him. Nick says he needs the medicine, not her.

Griselda is praying when her hubby comes in. Ofelia says the others are leaving and says it’s insane and they should go with them. He says no and she says he’s being paranoid and stubborn and is hurting them. He insists he’s protecting them but Ofelia says her mother needs the nurse. Daniel says he’ll go get a doctor once they leave. Her mother says they have been in worse situations.

Ofelia says they are good people and Salazar says good people die first. Travis tells Alicia to come on so they can leave. She gets in the car with her mom and Nick and Travis gets in the truck with Chris and Liza. They see two choppers fly overhead as they pull out of the driveway. They drive past a body wrapped in plastic dripping blood. Madison drives behind Travis.

Madison sees Patrick getting out of his car and going into the house. She yells at him but he doesn’t hear her. She races that way to try and stop him. Patrick comes into the yard calling for Susan. He sees her staggering for him. Madison races up and says not to touch her. Alicia watches. At the last moment before she bites Patrick, she’s shot. Men in uniforms swarm the yard. Patrick cries.

The military take their names and ask how many people live there. He gives all their names plus the Salazar’s names. The soldier tells them all to stay inside. Madison asks where they took Patrick and they tell her he was covered in infected blood. She asks if the blood is contagious. They ask if she was exposed or any of the family and they say no.

They ask about the fresh lump of dirt and she says their dog died. They offer condolences. Nick roams a house perimeter and sees soldiers marching through the streets. He’s looking for a way to get into a house. He sees a neighbor kid looking at him and she smiles and waves. He waves back and moves on. An airplane flies by and they see it take a sharp turn that doesn’t look right.

Travis watches the soldiers and says the cavalry has arrived and things will get better now. They see them marking doorways and loading corpses onto a truck in bags. Inside, Griselda asks Daniel what’s up and we see him watching the soldiers mark a house with an X. He says it’s already too late.
