Tonight on MTV Finding Carter returns with an all new Tuesday November 17, season 2 episode 19 called, “Never Let Me Go,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Elizabeth Wilson (Cynthia Watros) oversteps her bounds just as Lori re-enters Carter Steven’s (Kathryn Prescott) life.

#FindingCarter starts with Liz joking with Carter that they never see each other and asks how she is. Liz asks her a bunch of questions and Carter gets annoyed. Then Liz asks about her spending more time with Ben and she asks where they see each other. Carter says around then asks if she wants to know if she’s spending time with Lori. Carter gets mad and says she’s not seeing her and Liz says she can’t remember the last time they hung out. Carter says she’s been hanging out at Jared’s.
Liz asks if that’s her boss and Carter says he’s her boyfriend. Liz says he’s too old then asks how long it’s been going on. Carter says it’s her life and she can’t tell her who not to date. Liz says she lives there, there are rules and Carter threatens to move out. Carter comes to work and is grumpy. Jared asks if she’s okay and she says she had a fight with her mom and told her she’s moving out. Jared says they’ll figure it out but she says she’s suffocating her since Lori came back.
Jared says she can stay with him for a few nights or he’ll front her the dough to help her get a place of her own. She thanks him and kisses him. He says anything she needs. Liz is working on a drug case about botched drugs that match some from Alexandria that killed some kids. The beat cop says this is every parents’ nightmare. Taylor talks to Max about a picnic but he says he has work to finish at her house. She asks if he’s sulking about Gabe. He says it’s not.
He says his dad is up for parole and says there’s a hearing tomorrow and he’s going to testify and try to get them to keep him in prison. She says she wants to come with him but he says he needs to do this on his own. Taylor says okay. Jared tells her table 13 is hers and is waiting on drinks. She runs off to grab them. She says she’s distracted and Jared says they’re closing early to have a barbecue with her friends and his and says she needs it. She agrees. She tells him he’s amazing.
Max is working in the basement and Liz says he’s a miracle worker. She asks if he’s talked to Carter today and he says no, she’s at work. Liz says maybe then says they’re having some drama. She asks if he’s okay and he asks if she has been to a parole hearing before. He says his dad is up for parole and he’s going to testify to try and keep him in. She says just go and tell your story and says it should have a lot of influence as his son. He asks if his dad will be there and she says he will then she offers to go.
Lori shows up at the bar and she introduces Jared to her. Lori says she’s heard good things about him and he says they were all lies. She tells Carter that he’s cute then says Ben wanted her to know he got Olivia checked into rehab. Jared says the vodka guy got a flat then offers Lori a drink and she says cranberry juice. He asks to see her ID and he checks it out and says happy birthday. Carter feels bad and wishes her happy birthday. Jared asks how she’s celebrating and Carter invites her to the barbecue.
Lori asks if it’s okay then says she’ll see them later. She leaves and Jared says that was nice and Carter says she didn’t want her to be alone on her birthday. He tells her she’s amazing too. Carter, Bird and Taylor shop for food for the barbecue and Taylor says Max won’t come tonight and says he’s distracting herself with work. Bird says they need to do a triple date and get all their hot guys together. Bird says her older guy is not quite doing it for her sexually.
She says it’s not a big deal and Bird says she needs to go back for avocadoes. Taylor asks if she’s talked to their mom and asks if she’s not really going to move out. Taylor says she means well then Carter warns her Lori will be at the barbecue and Taylor asks if this is a birthday party for her and Carter says it’s just a coincidence. Gabe comes and asks Max if Taylor is around to help with a paper and Max says she’s out at a party and Gabe asks why he’s not going with her.
Max says she doesn’t need a babysitter and he’s short with Gabe who asks what’s up. He says he knows he’s mad that he was there for Taylor when he wasn’t. Max snaps at him again and says he’ll know Taylor long after Max is gone. Max goes on the offensive and they end up in a fight. Liz comes down and breaks it up. She asks what’s going on and Grant comes down and asks if they threw down then says cool. Liz says this is unacceptable and says they’re going to clean it up together.
She says while they clean up, sort this out and she leaves Grant in charge and he says that’s awesome. He tells them to put their backs into it and claps his hands. Carter is happy to see Taylor talking nicely with Jared. Carter says she wishes Liz wouldn’t make things so hard and then Lori shows up. Carter goes to greet her and she says this is nice and that she didn’t have to invite her but Carter says you shouldn’t be alone on your birthday. Taylor glares at Lori then texts Max.
Bird introduces Taylor to Seth. Bird goes to talk to Carter and Seth tells her that he really likes Bird but wants to know if he could be doing more for her. Taylor says ask her what she likes in graphic detail. He doesn’t get it and Taylor says to trust her and just ask. Grant says this is a basement of gloom and asks for details of the fight. Max and Gabe bicker some more and Gabe says Max’s Zen master thing is just a façade. Grant says less hostile, more chummy.
Max says he doesn’t have to be there and they won’t tell his mom. He says he’s good and doesn’t want to miss round two. Lori is working on a white board about the tainted drugs and her suspects. She doesn’t know who the top dealer is. Liz runs Jared’s profile to see if he has a record and finds a mug shot. At the party, Jared points out his guests. Lori calls put Carter flips over the phone and says her other BF won’t leave her alone.
Jared asks Stevie if she got that thing he asked her to get and she did. Lori tries to make small talk with Taylor who is hostile. Taylor says all she sees when she looks at her is a giant toxic cloud. She stalks off. Seth takes Bird into Jared’s office and locks the door. Her asks if she’s okay with this and she says it’s hot. He asks what she likes and she says him. He says he wants to make her feel good in an epic way and says tell him what to do. She says she can just show him.
Jared tells Carter to make a toast and she says he should go first. He toasts old friends and new friends and everyone cheers. Then he tells Carter she’s up. She says she doesn’t know much about life but knows you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with and is lucky to be surrounded by them. They do another cheers. Then Stevie brings out a cake for Lori who is tearful. Liz comes in just in time to see Lori blowing out her candles.
Carter asks Liz why she’s there and she asks why she’s celebrating Lori’s birthday. Liz tells Carter she doesn’t know what she’s getting into and asks if she knows Jared is married and has a daughter. Carter is shocked then says she’s been to his place and there’s no wife there. Liz says she ran a background check on him. Jared and Taylor come in and Carter says tell her he’s not married with a kid. He says that’s not how he wanted her to find out. She’s shocked.
He says he was going to tell her but was waiting for a good time. Carter asks when was the right time then tells Liz it’s not what he looks like. She says she deals with bigger asshats than him since she’s a cop and he insists this is not what he looks like. She says he hires underage girls then sleeps with them. Taylor drags her mom out then tells her she can’t put Carter on the spot like that and says she came off like a crazy person. Liz says they were celebrating the birthday of a kidnapper.
Taylor says this party was for Carter who has been bummed since Liz practically kicked her out. Liz says she’s trying hard to be a good mom and it’s not working. Taylor says Carter knows she’s a good mom and says she’s got a lot on her plate since her dad left but needs to stop trying to control everything and says humiliating Carter in front of everyone will drive her further away. Liz says she wants to protect her and Taylor says to give Carter some room to process this and says take a break.
Liz says she hasn’t done everything wrong since Taylor turned out well. Lori thanks Jared for everything and says she doesn’t know what went on with Liz and says be good to Carter, she’s been through a lot and deserves a break. He says that’s what he’s trying to give her. Seth acts weird and Bird asks if someone said something to him and he asks if he’s done it yet. She says she’s sorry and maybe it’s her. He says she’s prefect and they’ll get there.
Jared cleans up the bar and then Carter comes back. He says he’s so happy to see her. She says she needs to understand this. She says he was livid when she lied about her age. He says he didn’t know where this was going then he got scared it would freak her out. She asks about the wife and he says he has a daughter too. He says it’s been over for a long time and says they’re separated. She asks how long they were together and he says less than a year and says they fought all the time.
He says they broke up and then she found out she was pregnant so he married her to try and do the right thing. He says it didn’t last long and it’s all in the past. He says all he wants is her. She asks why he didn’t get a divorce and he says she won’t sign the divorce papers and they argued over custody. Carter says he could have told her and he says he’s so sorry and says he sees a future with her and is falling in love with her. She hugs him.
Liz finds Taylor up early and she says she couldn’t sleep. Liz asks why and Taylor says she’s thinking about Max and wants to be there for him like he is for her and Liz says she has to respect his wishes. She says she wants him to be okay. Liz talks about how Max let off some steam brawling with Gabe. Taylor says Carter was up early and gone and Liz says she’s avoiding her. Carter goes to Lori’s place and hands her the sweater she left at the bar. She asks if Carter is okay.
Carter says she found out that Jared has this whole life he had before he met her and Lori says Carter does too. Carter says she can’t move past it and Lori says take a beat and think it over. Carter says she’s sorry about the drama with her mom and Lori says it’s got to be hard to see her leave the nest and says Liz loves her. Lori recommends she talk to Liz and try. She says she wants what’s best for Carter. Gabe comes down into the basement and Liz says Max had a parole hearing for his dad.
She says Max is nervous and that’s why he’s on edge. Liz says Max is struggling since he couldn’t protect his mom because he was a kid. Gabe apologizes to Liz who says he’s a great kid who’s just had a lot to deal with. He says he’s been awful and Liz says he just lost his dad and was hurting. She says she really loved his father which is why she cares so much for him. He thanks her. Max sits alone outside the courthouse when Gabe shows up. He sits with him.
Gabe asks if he’s ready and Max says no. Gabe says he’s here if he needs him and Max says it’s stand up of him. Gabe says he can be a stand up guy and Max says he appreciates what he did for Taylor. Gabe says he shouldn’t have thrown it in his face. Max says two times now with the two people he loved most, bad stuff happened and he wasn’t there to help. Gabe says he’s here now and Max says it might not make a difference. Gabe says he’s there as backup and Max says that’s unexpected.
Gabe tells him he’ll always have feelings for Taylor but respects what she and Max have together. Max thanks him for coming down there. Seth works on Bird and she says yeah it happened last night. Then she says she didn’t tell him because she got greedy. Max and Gabe work on the basement and make plans to see a horror movie. Taylor comes in and Gabe goes to grab them sodas. She sits with Max and asks what’s up. He says Gabe came to the parole hearing.
He says he didn’t want anyone there but it meant a lot that Gabe showed up. He says Gabe is a good dude and made him realize he needs to ask for help when he needs it. Taylor tells him she loves him. He says it was weird seeing his dad and doesn’t know yet if they’ll let him out. Carter comes in and says hi to Liz who is in David’s office. They agree it’s strange him not being there. Liz tells Carter she’s sorry and Carter says she is too.
Carter says she knows she was just trying to protect her but it’s not fair to ambush her like that. She says it’s hard to watch Carter become a woman because she didn’t get to see her as a little girl. Carter says she wishes she was still a little girl. Liz asks about Lori and says it’s hard for her to handle that. Liz says this is her home and it will always be her home. Carter says she knows but needs some space. She grabs her bag and Liz says she doesn’t need to stay with Jared to prove a point.
Carter says not everything she does is about Liz. She walks out and Liz breaks down crying. Carter goes to Lori’s house and asks if she can stay for a couple of days. Lori says she’s always welcome there and she asks if Carter is okay. She says she will be. Lori welcomes her inside with a smile.
