Tonight on MTV Finding Carter returns with an all new Tuesday December 1, season 2 episode 21 called, “The Death of the Heart,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Carter’s (Kathryn Prescott) relationship with Jared (Jackson Rathbone) is tested.
On the last episode Jared’s past mistakes intruded on Carter’s party; and the Wilsons dealt with Carter’s absence in surprising ways that no one expected. Did you watch last week’s episode? If you missed it we have a full and detailed recap, right here for you.
On tonight’s episode as per the MTV synopsis “Carter’s relationship with Jared is tested; things come to a head between Elizabeth and Lori; and Max deals with the aftermath of his father’s trial.”

#FindingCarter starts with Jared and Carter making out in the elevator. They find an annoyed neighbor waiting on the elevator. They fake that there was a problem but the woman doesn’t seem to buy it. She leaves annoyed.
They are surprised to see that Jared’s apartment was broken into and ransacked. They look around. He says they took his computer, the money from the parties, and his watches. They wonder if Sarah was involved.
She goes to call the cops and he says he can’t report $4k stolen that he earned from illegal parties. Carter says they can throw more and make it back. He says they almost got shut down last time. Carter says they could go legit.
She says they could rent a space, open up a bank account and make it a legitimate business. Max and Taylor are watching a weird French movie for a class assignment. Max says he’s driving to see his mom tomorrow.
Taylor offers to come along and he says it’s a long drive. She asks if he’d like his mom to move closer and he says he would but doesn’t think she would do it. At the bar, Carter chats with Ben who is back in town. She asks about Olivia.
He says the counselors said she’s doing well but he’s worried about her going to a group home which is not that healthy. Carter asks if Lori would take in a recovering addict. Carter says Lori would do almost anything for Ben.
Carter also says Lori likes helping people but he says it’s a big ask. Ben considers. Jared finds Ben coming out of the bathroom and says vacation is over. Ben says he’s done selling for him and Jared says he owes him and his debt is not paid.
Jared threatens to call the cops on him and Ben says don’t do it. Jared says there’s a party tomorrow night and he’ll cut him in for 20%. Ben says he must be desperate and refuses. He walks off. Taylor looks at the stack of cash that Carter has – it’s her $4k.
She says she’s putting it in a bank. Taylor says she’s going with Max to his moms then they talk about a big announcement Bird wants to make. Taylor is making it rain – or trying to. Liz comes in and sees all the cash.
Carter says she’s just there to get stuff to take to Jared’s. Liz asks about it and Carter say she moved in with Jared. Liz says she doesn’t even know Jared. Carter says it’s about how she feels about Jared and says he’s a good guy.
Liz says this is a huge deal and she’s too young for all this. She asks if Jared is the guy she’s throwing underground parties with and says Officer Lopez told her about. Liz says the guy called to say she’s involved with illegal activities.
Liz says she’s got stacks of cash and is doing all sorts of stuff. Carter says trust me but Liz says you earn trust. Liz says she can’t move out and this is her home. Carter says not anymore and walks out. Jared and Carter are looking at space to rent.
It’s an old church but they want $1800. Jared says people only want to go to the parties because they’re underground. Her mom calls and she ignores it. She says the parties are awesome because they’re awesome.
Carter talks him into it and they rent the space. Lori is calling around to try and find a job but her reputation is an issue. Ben comes in and he says he’s sorry he missed her birthday. He suggests he and Carter take her out sometime.
Lori is thrilled. Grant calls Carter and says she’s being melodramatic. He says Taylor is always gone and Dad is gone too and says he’s lonely. Carter says she didn’t plan on things going this way. He asks if he can make her room a gaming suite.
She says he can but Taylor might not like it. Carter is putting clothes in drawers when she finds a gun in with Jared’s clothes. She asks him about it and he says he got it after the break in. She says it’s safer not to own a gun. He disagrees.
He promises to get rid of it when she fusses. The gang is at Gabe’s waiting on Bird’s big announcement Ben and Carter bet that it’s a marriage announcement. Bird and Seth come in and Bird says Seth is going to be a deejay in NYC.
He says they’re moving there for the summer and Bird says she got in an internship there too. Jared tells Carter it must be nice to be able to pick up and move like that and says he wishes Sarah would just sign the divorce papers.
He says he’s going to hire a tough lawyer and get her out of his life for good. He says he wants a clean slate with her. They kiss. Max and Taylor come to his moms and she runs to hug him. She hugs Taylor and says it’s nice to see her.
Max asks how she’s doing and if she’s worried. Then his dad walks into the room. Max is stunned. Carter meets Ben and Lori at the bar. Carter ignores a call from Liz then asks about her job search. Lori lies and gives false good news.
Lori goes to get them more drinks and Carter asks if Ben is going to ask Lori about Olivia. He says he’s not good at asking for help. Carter offers to ask for him but he says he can do it. Lori challenges them to a game of pool.
Max rants at Karen for letting his dad come there. She says he wanted to see Max and show he’s different. She says he’s changed. Max says his dad doesn’t deserve another chance. Max says they’re out of there and he and Taylor leave.
Lori kills her kids at pool and then Ben works up the nerve to ask if Olivia can stay with them. Lori says she can’t do it and Ben says that’s why he doesn’t ask for help. Lori tells Carter she can’t support two kids then admits she lied about the job.
Lori says she’s unemployable and Carter asks to help cover costs and says she’s making extra money from the parties. Lori says she has a big heart and Carter says she got it from Lori. Liz shows up, sees them together and storms out.
Jared gets a call from Ben who says he’s in to sell. Jared gets a call from Ben who says he’s in to sell. Lori drives home from the bar when she gets pulled over. It’s Liz. Lori looks worried. Liz demands her license and registration.
She asks if she’s been drinking and she says three diet sodas. Liz says she’s free to go. Lori tells Liz she tried to do right by her and told Carter to go home with her and she’s stalking her and tried to bust her.
Lori says she can’t stop Carter and Lori from getting closer. She says with David away, Liz didn’t have anything better to do. Lori gets in her car and drives off. The party is raging at the church.
Carter says they’re at capacity. Seth and Bird talk about finding some molly since security took his. Carter asks Jared if he saw Ben and he says no. She goes to look for him.
Carter calls Lori about Ben and she says he’ll be fine once she tells him they worked it out about Olivia. Carter spots him and tells Lori. Carter asks what’s up with Lori and says she sounds off. Lori says Liz pulled her over after the bar.
She says she just wanted to mess with her. Lori says she doesn’t want Liz to hate her more and asks Carter not to say anything to her. Max tells Taylor he can’t believe what his mom was telling him. Taylor asks if he could have changed.
Max says he doesn’t want to leave his mom alone with her – he doesn’t want her to get back with his dad. He asks Taylor what to do. She says go in for dinner, wait until his dad leaves then convince his mom to move closer to them.
Liz gets a call from Carter who asks if she lost her mind police harassing Lori. Liz admits it was wrong and says she thinks Carter is slipping away from her and promises it won’t happen again. Carter reminds her what she said about trust and hangs up on her.
Carter spots Ben dealing at the party. Carter confronts him and he says he had to come up with another idea. Carter says she worked it out with Lori and offered to pitch in some money to help. Ben says she didn’t have to and she says they’re family.
Carter says leave now and says he can’t sell drugs there. She insists that he goes. Karen tells Bill to tell Max his plans. He says there are some social programs to help. Taylor tells Karen she wishes she lived closer to Max.
Bill tells Max he’s glad he stayed for dinner but Max isn’t interested in anything his father has to say. Bird shows Gabe and Damon pics of the place she and Seth are getting in NYC. Max’s parents sing and play the guitar.
Max says they used to do that all the time. Then Max sees his father with a beer and he asks why he’s drinking. Bill says he’s sipping and it’s different. Bill grabs her leg a little hard and Max says he can’t be there anymore.
Bill says it’s not up to him. Max says don’t call me son and says the parole board let him out for overcrowding and says he’s not reformed at all. He says he got clean off a bender and then told them it would be different but it’s not.
He calls him a goddamned loser. Bill hits him and Taylor and Karen scream. They grapple brutally. Bill is beating on Max hard. Carter comes looking for Jared and is told he’s in the back. Damon asks Gabe if he has a shot with Bird.
Rick shows up to confront Jared about money he owes him. Jared says he’ll have more soon. Rick says another $40k and they will be done. Rick says he loaned him $50k to save his bar but it’s six months and his interest is out of control.
Rick says pay up by the first or he won’t like what happens. Carter asks who that was and he says he was looking for the bathroom. She says she caught Ben dealing and kicked him out. He says good. Carter notices he has the gun on him.
She’s annoyed. He says it’s not loaded, it’s for show. Carter rants at him then Bird comes and says something is wrong with Seth. He’s seizing. Jared says call 911 and he tries to revive Seth. Jared starts CPR. Jared stops and says he’s dead.
They are in a panic and Seth says they need to get him out of there. He says they could get sued or go to jail. Carter refuses to help him but she says he’s their friend. Jared says he tried to save Seth and now has to try and save them.
Max, Taylor and Karen watch while Bill is arrested and taken away. Karen says she’s an idiot for letting him in the house. She asks Max to stay the night and he asks her to think about moving closer to him. She says she will.
Max admits to Taylor when they’re alone that he provoked his dad. He’s got a black eye and is battered. She tells him he’s the greatest son ever and Max says he would do anything to protect Taylor and would do that for her too.
Grant finds Liz sitting in Carter’s room moping. He says he’s done it too. He wonders if Carter will come back to them and Liz says she doesn’t know and says she did a stupid thing and Grant says Liz always does stupid things.
She asks why he’s putting her on cast and he says it’s blast, not cast. Liz says let’s do something fun and says they can watch a movie. At the party, the paramedics are there and Jared says he found Seth outside smoking.
He lies and says he didn’t know him. Bird is distraught. Carter cries and Jared asks if she’s okay. He hugs her and tells her she’s safe.
