“General Hospital” (GH) spoilers indicate that there’s far more to Carlos Rivera’s (Jeffrey Vincent) return than a medical miracle – is he tied to Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) and his mob plans? We know that Carlos was never the brains behind any mob operation – he was a Jerome family henchman and hitman. So is that what he still is – a pawn in someone else’s game? Looks like!
We also know that evil DA Paul is working with a partner (or boss) that he answers to – could that boss be tied to Carlos or his faked death? And how does it affect Anna Devane (Finola Hughes)?
Paul has been holding the fact of Anna shooting Carlos over her head to manipulate her, but now this is flipped on its ear. Now Anna has leverage over Paul instead. With Carlos alive, Anna is exonerated (at least for murder).
But Paul is on the hook for switching out a body and saying it was Carlos and then rushing the cremation. First, though, how is Carlos alive? Turns out it was an elaborate ruse that Carlos said coincided with someone else’s “agenda.”
While it looked like Anna shot Carlos in the heart (see video below) and he keeled over dead, looks like maybe someone replaced Anna’s bullets – whoever it was that helped Carlos fake his death for some reason.
Was it Kyle Sloane (Robb Derringer)? Sloane must have been involved since he told Anna he disposed of Carlos’ body – but since there was not a body, that was a lie. What was Sloane’s agenda and was he working for someone else?
We know Sloane was on Nikolas Cassadine’s (Tyler Christopher) payroll. Did Nik and Sloane set up Anna up for a shooting to try and get her off of the mayoral election investigation? Things did not work out for Sloane either way.
It looks like Paul is likely NOT behind the Carlos fake death because otherwise, he would not have said Sloane’s body was Carlos to clean up his mess. If Paul finds out Carlos is back, he can still pin the Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shooting on him.
“General Hospital” spoilers indicate that Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine) will soon catch a glimpse of Carlos skulking around and freak out. Looks like Carlos only came back to get Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) to run away with him.
But now he may stick around even though Carlos can’t show his face publicly – at least not yet – since he’s wanted for Duke Lavery’s (Ian Buchanan) murder. But Carlos may try and clear his name.
Since Sabrina is lying about the baby, Carlos needs to stay to get the truth and that means he’ll poke into who really shot Sonny and blamed him. If/when Anna finds out Carlos alive, will she come gunning for him again?
Likely not, it seems like she’s learned her lesson. But Sonny absolutely would. Will Carlos confront Ava Jerome (Maura West) once he finds out she fingered him for the shooting? Who will Carlos haunt while trying to clear this up?
For now, we can assume he’s back to make trouble if his past is any indication of his future. Stay tuned to CDL for more “General Hospital” spoilers on the Carlos resurrection!
