“General Hospital” spoilers are in, and ABC executive confirmed that Billy Miller is not leaving GH and heading back to The Young and the Restless – Billy will stay with his current the daytime drama and will maintain his role of Jason Morgan. Ever since Billy Miller left “Young and the Restless,” fans speculated he would return once his initial contract was over. Some “GH” fans have not accepted him in the role of Jake Doe.
Over the past few months, multiple media outlets reported that he would leave the show in October, abandoning the huge buildup to the Jason reveal – which was supposedly to be a focal point of the November sweeps. Nathan Varni decided to put that rumor to rest, once and for all. He stated that Billy Miller was NOT leaving “General Hospital,” not after his contract was over nor anytime in the future.
It would be completely ridiculous for the soap to get rid of Billy Miller right now. Jake’s reveal is approaching, and it won’t be long until Port Charles is shocked to learn that Jason Morgan is alive. Steve Burton left “GH” under instructions from JFP to work for “The Young and the Restless.” Steve has stated many times he was sad to leave the role of Stone Cold behind but was happy to find a role he enjoys and can stay close to his family.
The rumor hinges on a rumor started by an overzealous blogger. She insisted that Miller was upset with the material written for Jake and demanded they write him off the soap. She contended that they agreed to his demands and only asked he finish out his contract. The story is ridiculous at best because “General Hospital” needs Billy at this point to see the Jake reveal to the end. Fans of the show cannot wait another year for Jake to find out his true identity.
“Young and the Restless” fans speculated that Miller would return to his role as Billy Abbott. It is more fan fiction than anything else. He has no desire to return to the show that wouldn’t allow him to pursue other career opportunities. Fans have never embraced Burgess Jenkins as Billy, and it’s not all his fault. Miller was a perfect Billy Abbott. Jenkins is a talented actor; however, he is not Miller. He has tried his best to make the role his own, and lately he’s settled in to the role and doing a great job.
Fans will have to let go of the dream that Billy Miller will return to “Y&R.” It is looking like he will never return to the CBS daytime drama. To quote Nathan Varni, “It is a complete rumor. We have no intention of letting Billy Miller go now or in the future.” Check back later for more juicy soap opera spoilers and updates!
