General Hospital spoilers reveal that a casting call for a new handsome male character referred to as ‘Ash,’ could be filled by Michael Muhney and possibly be Lucky Spencer. “General Hospital” has one of the large casts in daytime TV. When Ron Carlivati left (or fired) as head writer, fans were sure they would downsize the cast. At one point, fans took bets which actor was expendable. It appears that speculation was completely false, because “GH” put out a casting call for a new face to join the crew. And, that’s not all; it is highly speculated the character is none other than Michael Muhney.
“GH” Recaps on Twitter posted yesterday that the show is looking to cast a young male character referred to as ‘Ash.’ The character will be in his mid-30s, handsome, intelligent, and very charming. So far, it seems like a perfect fit for Michael Muhney, right? Immediately, the fans were ecstatic because the character seemed like a perfect fit for him.
Last year, Muhney met with ABC executives about a possible role. He denied the network ever offered him a role. Ever since meeting with TPTB at ABC, fans have speculated, they could see him on the show at any point.
The fact that he is denying a potential role isn’t concerning for the fans. When Michelle Stafford (Nina, “GH”) was brought to the show from “Y&R”, she denied it for months. In fact, the show released that she would be on the show just a few weeks before her first appearance. “GH” has to know that any role Michael Muhney is in, he’d shine. They also are well aware that he has a large fan base, and it could help with the ever falling ratings on the show.
There’s also the small chance that the character could be Lucky Spencer. The casting director stated a few months ago that they were trying to find the right person for the role of Lucky. When the Jason reveal finally takes place, the show will need to have a new man for Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) to prowl around Port Charles. Lucky and Liz have a history together, could he be Ash? And, is it possible that Michael Muhney could be Lucky Spencer, or will it be a new role for him?
