Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) is ruining lives all over Port Charles – this “General Hospital” spoiler looks at how many lives will be destroyed when Liz’s dirty secret comes out. Who doesn’t love seeing Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) with Jake Doe (Billy Miller)? Liz and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) sure don’t. But what’s obvious to Liz and Patrick – and to all of us watching is that Sam and Jake have so much more chemistry than Liz and Jake.
We wrote before about how Jake and Liz’s long-awaited consummation seemed stilted and forced. A lot of fans got upset at our observations, but we stand by it. It was awkward. But watch Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco and wow – their chemistry is so hot you could fry an egg on it! Now that Sam and Jake have teamed up to expose the infiltration at ELQ – which they accomplished in record time – they’ve got time to be friends which they discussed at the impromptu double date with Jake and Liz.
You could see the terror on Patrick’s face, but especially on Liz’s, when they saw how well that Sam and Jake were getting along. Patrick isn’t really sure why he’s uncomfortable, but deep-down, he has to sense that Jake and Sam have some sort of call to each other. But Liz, oh Liz, that dirty, sneaky minx, she knows better. Liz knows she’s seeing that deep abiding love that Sam and Jake have for each other and she knows she’s keeping them from each other.
And, worse yet, she’s keeping Danny Morgan away from his dad. That’s just horrifying. Liz is so happy playing house with Jake that she is not thinking through the trauma she’s putting other Port Charles families through. Think about it. The Quartermaines would be thrilled to know that Jake is alive, especially since AJ was murdered. With Emily gone as well, isn’t Jason the only child left of that generation of Qs?
And aside from Sam, what about Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)? Jason was like a brother to Sonny and after having lost both Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore), he’s bereft of male friends right now. And he could really use some support with all the family and mob drama he’s got going on. Granted Carly is buddy buddy with Jake, but that’s not the same as knowing her all-time BFF Jason is back from the dead.
The only people that would be hurt by Jason being back from the dead are Liz and Patrick but, then again, their in relationships they wouldn’t be in if Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) hadn’t stolen Jake after his shooting. And it’s not likely that Patrick would have kept the secret like Liz has. If Patrick recognized Jake’s brain from the scans, he would have spoken up.
Just as Patrick had to push Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) out of his life to make room for the returning Robin Scorpio (Kelly McCullough), I’m confident he would push himself out of the way for Sam and Jason to be together. It would be a huge karmic slap if he didn’t step aside. And you can see why Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) is keeping the secret. He wants to steal ELQ and he doesn’t give a damn about Jason and never has – as far as he’s concerned, Jason is a killer.
Nik is a Cassadine after all, so he’s genetically evil by design, but Liz has NO excuse for her behavior. Liz is as bad as Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) – lying to Jake about his identity – actually, she’s worse. Because Hayden didn’t know doodly about Jake/Jason and just needed some money. Liz is scamming Jake and all of Port Charles with full knowledge of who she’s hurting and is doing it because she’s just a greedy, horrible person.
“General Hospital” spoilers reveal that the truth about Jake’s identity will come out by late summer and then Liz can expect all hell to break loose in Port Charles when her lies are exposed.
