Here are some “General Hospital” spoilers to get you ready for the Friday August 21 episode. It’s cliffhanger Friday – what will we be left scratching our heads about today on GH? Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) calls Denise DeMuccio (Maura West) to the stand. Franco (Roger Howarth) isn’t happy his dad called her to testify and doesn’t want her there – he tells her as much. Franco doesn’t want Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) at risk from anything Denise might say but Scotty cares only about Franco, not Nina and presses on.
Scotty will grill Denise ruthlessly – and gets some truth out of her, but is it about Denise being Ava Jerome or about Denise being a cheating, horrible person who’s banging the barely out of his teens Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig). Either way, the truth will be a major shock to Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) who seems to roam around clueless most of the time.
Nina meanwhile is stressing about the trial. She calls in Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) to help with Franco but Nathan wants answers about baby Avery’s kidnapping and knows Nina knows far more than she’s letting on. If Nina reveals that Silas Clay (Michael Easton) kidnapped Avery, then he’ll want to know why. How much will Nina reveal to her little brother the cop.
Also, the siblings have to speculate that Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) may be the likely culprit in the Silas murder. Did Maddy kill off Silas to keep him from confessing about the kidnapping when Madeline and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) are trying to convince Nina she did the crime? Madeline has one hell of a motive for offing Silas, plus she’s hated him for 20+ years.
After Maddy leaves Nina at Shadybrook, annoyed that her daughter wouldn’t blindly sign the papers she gave her, she runs into Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). They chat for a bit and find out they have some surprising things in common. Maddy’s got nutty Nina and now Carly thinks Morgan might be bipolar so they talk about the stresses of parenting difficult children.
And speaking of Morgan, Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) chats up his sweetie Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) about the troubling history of mental illness in his family. Of course, Mikey dodged a bullet since he’s not blood related to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but he’s got to deal with the family members that struggle.
Sabrina and Michael also talk about Sonny and Carly’s wedding and Sabrina asks him if he’s ever going to be able to forgive Sonny. Sabrina encourages Michael to think about attending the wedding and says she’s there for him no matter what Michael decides. As always, Sabrina encourages Michael to be the best version of herself.
And Sonny also has a visitor – Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) stops by for a coffee talk with her ex-BF. Olivia wants to talk about Julian Jerome (William deVry) and wants to know from Sonny if he really thinks that Julian is out of the business. Sonny doesn’t think he’s out and tells Olivia all the dirt and what he suspects about Julian but he wants to know why she’s asking. Will Olivia blab about Leo?
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) later asks Julian why he’s suddenly so concerned about Denise. Julian is keeping secrets from Alexis and will continue to. Julian can’t tell Alexis about Ava right now because Ava isn’t her client and she would have turn her in to the cops. Alexis suspects that Julian is not being honest but she doesn’t press him too much about it.
When Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) goes in for a check up with Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) she will share some startling information she’s recovered from her lost memories with Patrick and it’s about Jake Doe (Billy Miller). Patrick, in turn, will explain to Jake why Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) rub each other the wrong way.
Also, Brad Cooper’s (Parry Shen) adoptive mother, Mrs. Wu, is coming to Port Charles soon – expect major shockers about this mom which CDL will reveal later today. And Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Palmer Watkins) will hang with Brad’s lover boy Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) and they’ll catch up on what’s going on in each others life. Dillon is also thinking about Paul Hornsby’s (Richard Burgi) other kids whom are his siblings yet Dillon doesn’t know. Come back to CDL for more GH spoilers and news later.
