Friday is cliffhanger day in Port Charles – here are some “General Hospital” spoilers for what’s going on in PC on Friday, July 31. Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) has had enough of Liz Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) lies. Laura tries to get Liz to admit the truth to her, but when Liz sits on her Jake Doe (Billy Miller) secret, Laura drops the hard fact on her that Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) told her the truth about Jake being Jason and then Laura lays her into big time about treating the man she purports to love so horribly.
Jake chats up Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and shares with her the theory that Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) has that Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) knowing his true identity is a strong indicator that Nikolas knows too. Sam suspects her cousin of deeper evil than she first knew. They’ll find out very soon from Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) that Hayden is waking soon and then they’ll know.
Wouldn’t it be fun if Hayden mumbled the news where Patrick can hear it as she’s coming to? Then Patrick could keep this info to himself and propose to Sam to try and block her from going back to Jason when it comes out. That would give Nik the chance to get to Hayden and tell her to keep quiet – unfortunately it could prolong this Jake as Jason thing even longer, but would still be a nice twist.
Michael goes to confront Nik about ELQ – he tries to play the guilt card to no avail and then tells Nik that he shouldn’t get too comfortable in the CEO chair because he’s going to send Nik packing. Nik is not impressed. Nik knows he has to hang on tight to ELQ to try and protect Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) and the rest of the Cassadines by keeping hold of the Q corporation.
Rat fink Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) dumped hapless wife Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) at Shadybrook and took off to try and steal her money away. But then Nina’s reformed-serial killer prince will show up to rescue her out of the loony bin. And since Nina self-committed, seems like she should be able to walk right out the door.
Franco tells Nina that Silas Clay (Michael Easton) stole baby Avery and she’s in the clear and doesn’t deserve to be there no matter what Ric said. Franco takes Nina to see Silas who she will lambast for leaving her on the hook for the crime. This could close the case, but will Silas be killed before can confess. And, if so, could Nina still be on the hook? Save her, Franco!
Speaking of Silas kicking it, Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) reassures Denise DeMuccio/Ava Jerome (Maura West) that he will do whatever it takes to stop Silas from blabbing to Kiki Jerome (Hayley Jerome) about them shagging. Expect them to start planning a permanent felony to be perpetrated on the unsuspecting person of Silas. Who will pull the trigger and who will dig the shallow grave?
