“General Hospital” (GH) spoilers indicate that Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) may look different, but he’s the same casual killer on the inside – and that’s something he’ll hate about himself – and may also find others hate that side of him too.
The new Jason doesn’t want to be a thug or criminal, but anytime he’s put into a position of danger, he lashes out with lethal muscle memory. How many people has he killed since he came back into Port Charles as Jake Doe?
The body count continues to climb and it looks like Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) will be lucky to not be one of Jason’s kill count. Nikolas spoke some harsh truths to Jason about him returning to town and putting his loved ones in danger.
And Nikolas isn’t wrong, in some ways, that Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and Danny would have been better off with Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson). But even as Nikolas was sassing Jason, no way did he think the former hit man would toss him off the balcony.
The problem with Jason is – he always goes uber-lethal and that lack of control makes him scary. He goes from zero to homicide in 1.2 seconds. This time, he threw Nikolas off the balcony without a thought to how that would affect Nik or himself.
When Nikolas lands in front of Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst), obviously injured at Jason’s hands, Liz will be absolutely horrified. No matter what Nikolas has done, there’s no way Liz will think Jason was justified to attack Nikolas in this over the top way.
Liz will be with Nikolas as he’s taken to General Hospital – and she’ll likely be one who helps tend to him while they wait for the ambulance to arrive. But once she finds out it was Jason that did this to Nikolas, will she be horrified and scared of Jason?
In Liz’s mind, she and Nikolas are in the same boat – they both lied to Jason about his past. Is this what Jason is going to do to people he doesn’t like? Will Liz be afraid of Jason and sickened by his actions? And how will that repulsion affect Jason?
Up until now, Liz has been desperate to have Jason back and pleading with him to reconsider the split. But if Liz turns her back on this violent version of Jason and tells him she doesn’t want him or want him around her sons, it could change the dynamic between them.
Men always want what they can’t have and if Liz steps back from Jason, it may encourage him to step forward towards her. Sam has always been far more accepting of Jason’s dark side, but since Jason is himself disturbed by the violence that dwells within him, will Sam’s acceptance bother him?
Plus, Liz will be very protective of Nikolas after what Jason did to him – will Jason get jealous over her attention to Nikolas? Will Liz’s horror at his actions and defense of Nikolas actually bring Jason closer to her since he sees her with another man?
Let’s face it, Jason’s brain is still addled but he has to do something about the violence that’s obviously deeply rooted within him – unless he wants to go back to being the mob monster that he was. And it doesn’t seem like Jason wants that past life.
Maybe he’ll see that he needs to step away from those who accept that side of him and make a fresh start. There’s lots more to come with this new development. Will Nikolas spend Christmas at GH in traction? Will Jason spend Christmas in the PCPD lock up?
Will Jason ever be able to quell the violence that’s inside him and make a new life for himself without that dark side taking over? Stay tuned to CDL to find out more on this and other storylines in our detailed daily “General Hospital” spoilers.
