Check out these “General Hospital” spoilers to get you ready for the Thursday, September 24 episode. Look for a major showdown on today’s GH! Jake Doe (Billy Miller) tells Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) mistaking him for Jason. Michael tells him it makes sense in a way since Jake did step up to save him just like Jason did so many times. Michael then tells Jake that he’s got to protect his family from the mob threats and that means he’ll be running the family business for now until Sonny is back on his feet.
Michael says he’s the only one that can do it since Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) needs to focus on Sonny and Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) is off the rails and Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) is gone. That leaves no one but Michael to take the reins. Jake tells him he doesn’t have to do it alone and he’ll help Michael keep the family safe and protect the family. Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) won’t like it.
Liz has to know that the more that Jake steps into familiar patterns from his old life, the greater the chance that his memories will return. She also knows that the wedding vows Jake was dreaming about were not ones he would say with her, but ones he said with Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco). Liz is well aware today is Jason and Sam’s anniversary and that’s why Jake’s brain is tingling.
Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) comes to check on Sonny and Sonny tells him he can’t believe he lived through this. Patrick has to tell Sonny about the fallout from the shooting – it’s more than taking out the bullet and sewing him up – Sonny will have complications. Will Patrick tell Sonny he may not walk again? Or perhaps Patrick will be more cautious and just says he needs rehab and they’ll see what happens.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) presses Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) to drop the charges against Julian Jerome (William deVry) for lack of evidence. After all, with Charlie dead, they have no one to testify against Julian. It makes sense that Paul might drop the case against Julian since he doesn’t want anyone poking around the Jerome organization since he and Ava Jerome (Maura West) are now running it.
But that’s not all Alexis wants. She asks Paul to step up and look into the mob violence and find out who shot Sonny and tells him she’s certain it wasn’t Julian. Paul will take notice that Alexis has a very personal interest in this. Paul will promise to find the truth, which is funny since he knows exactly who the shooter was since he pulled the trigger personally.
Sam chats up her dad Julian. He asks for her help – will Julian ask her to look into the plot against Sonny and the mob violence? Sam says she’s the only one who can help him and agrees. She does have inside ties with the Corinthos family, but would Julian put her in harm’s way to try and prove his innocence? Sam also has more thinking to do about Jason today, on their wedding anniversary.
And the big showdown today is between Carly and Ava at GH. Ava shows up and wants her baby. Is she just engaged in wishful thinking or did Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) work his magic to get her custody and Paul rubber stamped the request? We know Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) was trying to block it, but Paul wants to disgrace Ric further and may block Ric’s filings or Scotty may have beat Ric to the punch.
