George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin have been rumored to be on the verge of a divorce for months. But, after spending almost the whole summer together in Italy at George’s villa, everyone thought that their relationship was on the mend and they may have delayed their inevitable divorce. According to a new report, mending his marriage with Amal came at a high price – and he agreed to sell all of his houses because they reminded Amal of his ex-girlfriends. Jealous much?
This week’s edition of OK! Magazine reveals that George Clooney is listing multiple properties for sale, and the actor is parting ways with his villa in Italy, his beach house in Cabo, his apartment in New York City, and his house in the popular Los Angeles area, Fryman Cannon. An insider revealed to OK! Magazine that Amal ordered George to sell all of his homes that he used to entertain multiple women in when he was one of Hollywood’s most sought after bachelors.
An insider dished to OK! Magazine, “Those houses hold a lot of happy memories for George but she hates the thought of sleeping in the same rooms as his former lovers. He knows that it is pointless arguing with her, she is a lawyer and she always wins.” According to OK!, during their vacation in Italy George and Amal were spotted having a heated argument because she fund some items left behind in the Comos Villa by his previous flame Elisabetta Canalis.
It’s not a total loss, George is set to make over $100 Million by his real estate sales – but it is the principle of it. If you have to sell four houses just to keep your wife happy, then chances are your relationship is not going to last. Selling his prized homes is really just a temporary band-aid. Eventually, George and Amal are going to wind up divorced anyways – and that means he will have sold his homes for nothing. Do you think George is crazy to part ways with four mansions just to keep Amal happy? Or is it romantic? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
