A van pulls up to a house and Raymond, a guy shooting a Ghost Seekers show, gets out. He’s at the Donovan house and talks about how the couple that lived there died from a massive jolt of electricity that shattered their teeth and blew their eyes out. He says the legend is the husband haunts the property upset that the killer still walks free. Paul and Carol, his co-hosts and fellow ghost hunters tease him.
Nick comes home to tell Juliette that Rosalee and Monroe left for their honeymoon. He calls her phone and leaves her a message saying he’s home and to call. Renard asks Juliette how this hexienbeast thing happened. She says she doesn’t know and his mom said there might be side effects. She asks him to call his mother to reverse it. She says it started the night Monroe was kidnapped.
She begs him to help her. The Ghost Seekers creep into the Donovan house with their cameras on, ready to be spooked. Paul says he doesn’t think they’re the only ones there. Raymond says they won’t stop shooting no matter what, that’s the Ghost Seeker guarantee as he talks into the camera. Raymond goes upstairs to where the Donovans died talking to the camera. Paul mocks his cheesy narrative.
Paul says he’s running an EMF meter to see if there’s anything suspicious as he films downstairs near Carol. There’s not but then he hears a noise and the meter goes crazy. Raymond says there’s literally a ghost in the room as his EMF goes off too. Carol’s EMF meter goes crazy then the lights start flickering even thought there’s no power to the house.
She calls Paul over. She’s excited thinking they’re finally going to see one. Raymond is in the room where the Donovans were found and says you can still see the scorch marks. Then the lights flicker and the ceiling fan turns on. Paul sees something behind the woman and she turns – the electric oven is on. Then Raymond sees something. A creature grabs and shocks him.
Paul and Carol hear him scream and then his body comes flying down the stairs. He’s a charred black pile of smoking remains that’s horrifying. J comes home and says she was at the grocery store. Nick tells her he thinks maybe they should get away too and she says it sounds like a good idea and says everything will be back to normal. Later, she lies awake in bed then rolls over and Nick wakes up.
He goes to his trailer and chooses a double headed ax then comes back home. He goes upstairs and into the bedroom and raises it over his head. She wakes as he says he knows what she is and swings it. She wakes from her nightmare to a note from Nick saying he wanted to let her sleep in. Renard calls Juliette and says he has someone she can talk to that may be able to help.
He says to meet him at the cafe later. At the haunted house, Wu asks Nick and Hank if they remember the Donovans. Wu says after he saw this last, he went to the trailer. He shows them Raymond, the dead ghost hunter and shows them their business card. They agree it looks like he was struck by lightning. Wu says they other two ghost hunters called it in and said he was killed by a ghost.
They head upstairs to see what’s up. They find his camera and wonder if he recorded his own death. Paul tells them they’ve been recording the series for about a year and were so excited because this time they thought they really found something. Carol says what it did to Raymond was just like the legend and they talk about the Donovans. Paul says it’s the ghost of the ex-husband.
Carol says the way he screamed was awful and Paul says they’re going to find the ghost. Nick and Hank tell them to leave it to the cops. Renard watches Julia get out of her car. She’s almost run down by a guy. He ignores her and he keeps texting and ignores her. He walks off after getting sassy with her. She woges and his car engine explodes. Renard grabs her and walks her away as the guy freaks over his car.
She asks if she did that and he says he believes she did. Back at the police station, Nick and Hank look over reports that have come in about the house over the years. Hank says the house is still up for sale. They look at the photos of the couple before they died and then their charred bodies. They look up who worked the case – it was Mark Wilson and they call him for coffee.
Renard says he called Henrietta, a woman who has known his mother since he was a child. He says she may ask her to do certain things to evaluate her. He gives her a phone number and says to memorize it. She does and then the numbers move. She asks how he did it. He says he didn’t do it – Henrietta did. Retired detective Wilson comes in and says they could only ID them by their wedding rings and the fact that they were in their own home.
He says it was like the killer had some crazy ass strong taser. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing missing. Wilson says they suspected Theo Hinkley, a guy that the wife was having an affair with. They also talked to Lily, Theo’s wife. Theo worked with the husband and they thought he may have killed them when Patty decided not to live her husband for him.
They ask if he knows where they are and he says all their last knowns are in the file but asks if they solve it, to let him know. We see a homeless guy pushing a cart up to the Donovan place. He takes a bag off his cart and goes inside. He looks around and then heads upstairs. He opens the bedroom door and then touches the bed. He lies down on it and falls asleep.
Nick tries to put the moves on Juliette but she groans and says she’s really tired. He takes the hint and says it’s no big deal. She asks him not to be mad and he says it’s fine. He tells her good night and that he loves her. While the homeless guy sleeps, the lights start to flicker and he hears a man’s and a woman’s voice. He sits up and sees the room as it used to be.
Then he sees Stetson and Patty dancing in their candle lit bedroom. He’s scared. The ghost woman looks at him. The music plays and they dance. The light flares brighter and then from outside the house, we see the windows glowing and then the man is screaming.
Monroe and Rosalee are Skyping with Juliette from their honeymoon. They are in the tropics and are happy. Nick leans in and says they miss them. Rosalee asks J if she’s still having headaches and she says to stop wasting beach time on them. Nick says he’ll see her later and heads off to work. Hank is working the phones. He tells Nick that Lily moved and left no forwarding but he found out where she works.
Wu comes over and says they forget he’s a valuable member of the team. They joke and ask who he is. He shows them footage he salvaged from Ray’s camera. It shows him coming into the room and filming the scorch marked bed but it caught the face of some sort of creature. Wu asks if it’s Wesen and Nick says he doesn’t know. Wu says he saw a sketch like this in the trailer.
He says it was something like a Meta, Muto, Mata something. He can’t remember. Nick asks him to print a copy of the image and they agree it’s the killer and wonder if it’s Theo and if Lily knows he’s Wesen. Wu brings them a photo and Nick invites him to go along. He’s thrilled. J is at Nick’s trailer looking through books. She finds one on hiexenbeasts.
The guys go talk to Lily and they tell her there’s been another killing at the Donovan house. They ask if she heard it was haunted and she says she believes in ghosts but doesn’t think her husband is back in town. They show her the photo that was taken and Nick says they know her husband is Wesen. Nick tells her he’s a Grimm and she woges into an owl thing and panics.
He tells her he’s not going to hurt her. Lily says she told Stetson that their spouses were having an affair and Stetson killed Patty and Theo. They ask why she didn’t tell the cops and she says how do you explain to the police that someone you know can electrocute people. They ask her what kind of Wesen that Stetson is and she says Matanca Cumbido.
She says if she knew what he was, she never would have told him about the affair. Ghost hunter Paul wants to go back to the house but Carol is scared. He takes his camera and says he’s going to prove this is real. Juliette is reading up on hexienbiests and calls Henrietta. The woman speaks her name and gives her the address. She tells her to remember it and she’ll see her later tonight.
J asks what time and she says – you’ll know. The address rearranges as soon as she’s done looking at it. Wu, Nick and Hank are surprised to see Juliette at the trailer and she says she was brushing up since Trubel is gone. She leaves and Nick sees that the book she was reading was on hexienbeast. Hank says it’s no surprise with all she’s done to them. Wu says not to him but they tell him he at her cookie and that’s why he ate his carpet.
Lily goes to the house intent on confronting Stetson. She says to herself that if he’s not a ghost, she’ll make sure he is one now. Behind her, we see the homeless guy roll up with his shopping cart. Hmm. Maybe he didn’t die when the light show was on. The man says – it will be just like it was. He takes a knife and starts hacking off his crazy bum beard. Lily goes inside and looks around.
She hears footsteps and is startled. She goes to see then hears a creak. She runs into Carol, the ghost hunter. Lily has a gun and Carol asks her not to shoot. She says she came for Paul but Lily tells her to go and she does. Lily hears the door and the lights start flickering. The guy grabs her and puts his hand on her neck. She says – Stetson. He says he’s glad she came and says he has something to show her.
He says they’re here and they’re alive. Stetson sees an image of Theo and Patty in the bed but she can’t see what he’s talking about. Paul hides in the closet filming this. At the trailer, Wu finds the Mantaca page. He reads it and says it was found in the Amazon and is horrifying. The Grimm wrote that his power rivals that of Zeus.
Wu scans the page to see how to take care of it. The Grimm book says they need a paste made from the skin of a South American poison dart frog. Wu asks why Stetson keeps going back to the house where his wife cheated. Hank says he must have loved her. Nick finds the frog stuff. Wu reads the directions and it says he has to pierce his ear. He doesn’t want to. But then Carol calls and tells him about Lily.
She also says Paul is at the house. Nick says that means he’s piercing his ear and says they’ll mix the poison frog paste in the car. Stetson gives Lily a dress and says it was the last thing Patty wore and she has to put it on. He gives off little electrical sparks to scare her into doing it. The cops pull up to the house and Nick tells Hank to do this. He jabs the needle in Nick’s ear and he puts the paste in.
Nick complains that it hurt. Carol watches them and asks what kind of cops they are. Stetson tells Lily it’s going to be just like it was. He turns on the record player and pulls her into a dance. He calls her Patty and says she’s the love of his life and he forgives her for what she did to him. Paul films them. Nick and Hank creep through the house looking around.
The lights are all flickering. Stetson is giving off little sparks too. Nick and Hank head up the stairs slowly. Paul is freaking out and makes a sound and that distracts Stetson who throws Lily aside and he goes to confront Paul. Stetson woges but Nick is there in time to stop him. Hank drags Paul out who complains that he dropped his camera and he saw a real ghost.
Nick beats down Stetson who’s stunned that he can’t kill him and asks why he didn’t die. He says – frog paste. Nick is about to arrest him when the guy is shot from behind by Lily. His death causes a surge of power that blows Lily back into the wall but she survives. Later, Wu tells Nick they’re digging up Stetson’s grave to confirm that it was Theo.
Nick says Lily did them a favor by killing them since they couldn’t hold Stetson behind bars. Renard shows them a video that Paul posted – looks like he got his camera back. Hank asks if they have anything to worry about but Renard says it’s okay, no one believes in ghosts. Juliette goes to see Henrietta. She tells her to come in and shut the door and says they have a great deal to talk about.
Renard comes home and gets a twinge. He thinks back to when he was shot and then notices his chest is bleeding where the bullets. Were. He wipes away the blood and wonders what the hell is going on.
