Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale Divorce After 13 Years Of Marriage – What Caused Break-Up?

And, another celebrity couple bites the dust. Divorce is the fate of Gwen Stefani and her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale, after 13 years of marriage – and three children. TMZ broke the news on Monday August 3, and then Gwen and Gavin released a joint statement confirming their break-up. Since Gwen joined NBC’s show The Voice as a temporary replacement for Christina Aguilera, reports hit the internet teasing that there was trouble in paradise, between Gwen and Gavin’s conflicting schedules and her constant flirting with her co-star Pharrell.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s official divorce statement reads: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”

There is no news yet on exactly what happened between Gavin and Gwen to cause their break-up, but general consensus in the media is that they simply grew apart and spent little to no time together because of their busy work schedules. Ironically, Gwen hinted during an interview with Cosmopolitan Magazine earlier this year that their marriage was strained. When discussing her 13 year marriage Gwen explained, “We go through so much together – it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long.”

According to a report from US Weekly, both Gavin and Gwen have hired high-profile divorce lawyers. Gwen is being represented by Scott Weston, and Gavin has hired Laura Wasser. It’s unclear now what sort of prenuptial agreement the two singers had in tact, but so far the divorce proceedings appear to be amicable. Are you as shocked as we are by Gavin and Gwen’s divorce?
