“The Voice” spoilers recently revealed that Gwen Stefani was out and Christina Aguilera was reclaiming her coach’s chair in Season 10 – but that was BEFORE Gwen and Blake Shelton confirmed that they are dating and nearly broke the Internet.
Rumors that Gwen and Blake were hooking up were floating around for months, but a rep finally confirmed their relationship the night of the Country Music Awards. Now, “The Voice” fans are speculating that Gwen’s new boyfriend could mean that she will stay on “The Voice.”
It’s no secret that there is a feud brewing between Christina and Gwen – the No Doubt singer is sick and tired of Christina’s attitude and the fact that she thinks of Gwen as just her “substitute” until she comes back to work. Gwen Stefani doesn’t want to give up her coaching gig, and now that she is dating Blake Shelton, she might not have to.
NBC announced that Christina Aguilera was returning, but that doesn’t mean that they have actually signed any contracts, and it would be foolish to not cash in on all of the press and publicity that Blake and Gwen are getting right now.
Christina was allowed to come and go as she pleased because she was good for ratings. But, now Gwen Stefani might actually be better for ratings. Can you imagine the buzz that a couple in the coach’s chairs will create? And, all of the corny banter when their teams are competing against each other?
Besides, Blake Shelton seems to have quite a bit of pull on the show – and unlike Christina Aguilera he hasn’t been coming and going.
