RECAP:

Dovie left to return home on tonight’s new episode of “Gypsy Sisters” and yet she left behind one final present for her sisters and cousins.

Dovie has always been a peacemaker of the family and it seems like that won’t change even if she is out of state. So to make sure that this latest truce amongst her family stuck, she then came up with what she thought was the perfect bonding experience. Dovie paid for all of them to go on a vacation to a dude ranch.

And to be fair that was a nice idea of hers. But it never could have worked with this particular crowd. Dovie forgot something very important. She forgot that she was the outdoorsy one meanwhile her family was pretty much comprised of city girls.

Normally, Gypsy girls don’t do dude ranches unless there’s actually guys at these ranches to attract. So right away the idea didn’t set well with Dovie’s family. Though, for Dovie, they did try to be enthusiastic about this “vacation”.

Everyone packed up their heels and their bling. You know because a gypsy woman has to look good no matter the situation. And, surprisingly, that the drive up to the ranch actually helped get some issues out of the way.

For instance, Annie’s relationship with Dallas’s ex-husband has apparently hit the rocks. Soon after Dallas’s left, her ex felt like he should step away from the drama and so he told Annie that he needed a break.

And even though they could have rubbed such information in her face, neither Nettie or JoAnn said anything to make Annie feel even worse.

But later no one, and truly no one, was thrilled to find out they would soon be mucking out stalls. Something the girls hadn’t known was that dude ranches were also known as working vacations. Meaning they would be put to work the second they got there.

Though luckily for Nettie, she got sick soon on “vacation” and thus could not work.

So the other ladies were left to their own devices. And funnily enough they did end up enjoying themselves. And that goes for Mellie as well.

Once she started, Mellie didn’t mind mucking out the stalls. She was actually congratulated for being the most work orientated. And afterwards when the girls had to herd cows, the one person that stood out and not in a good way was Annie.

It seems herding was supposed to be an exercise on patience but somewhere along the way Annie forgot the directions. And she began to think of herding as a contest. So in her mind, she won something when she got them all in there. But was then disappointed when she was told she forgot the point of the exercise.

Apparently, while patience is a good thing, all these little exercises they were doing were also targeted towards bonding. And Annie failed on the first one. Though she did make up for it when they were seemingly playing tag later on with the animals.

And you know what the girls learned something new. They found out how a cow is checked for pregnancy and there was just something about a man sticking his whole arm up a cow’s butt that couldn’t make them stop laughing.

So on their second day on the ranch, the women (and this time Nettie) were looking forward to seeing what was next. But hearing they would be walking on a rope course in which they’d have to walk across bridges and tight ropes – made one of them very apprehensive. And Mellie decided that she no longer wanted to be part of the experience.
