Halle Berry and her husband Olivier Martinez have been hit with a lawsuit from an LAX worker who claims Martinez hit him with a carseat in January. The suit was filed on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court and the alleged victim, Ronaldo Owens, is hoping to pocket at least $5 million if he wins.
As the story goes, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez landed at LAX International back in January, only to be swarmed by paparazzi.
Apparently Martinez just couldn’t take it anymore and took matters into his own hands. Halle’s husband used their child’s carseat as a shield and barrelled over everyone in their path, including Ronaldo Owens who was knocked off his feet.
According to the lawsuit, Halle Berry and her family arrived at the airport around 1:45 p.m. on January 4. They were escorted by police down a special hallway used for celebrities and other high profile fliers.
Owens contends that he wasn’t even in the way of Berry or Martinez.

Instead, Ronaldo says he was standing to the side of the couple and he was not blocking their route in any way. That didn’t stop Olivier Martinez from going on a rampage though and charging at Owens with the carseat in front of him like a battering ram.
Ronaldo Owens claims that Martinez hit him with the carseat with such force that he lost balance and tumbled to the ground. According to Owens’ lawsuit, the LAX employee is suing for assault, battery, negligence and for emotional distress. Ronaldo claims he was not only injured during the attack but that he was embarrassed and humiliated too.
Olivier Martinez claims that Ronaldo Owens was much more than just an employee at LAX. The French actor claims that Owens was snapping pics of his family and acting like amatuer paparazzi when Martinez and his family came through. Olivier and Halle argued that Owens had been snapping cell phone pics of them just before Olivier smashed into him with the carseat.
With all the paparazzi cameras trained on Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, it’s no surprise that the incident was recorded. Owens claims that the recordings of Martinez knocking him over were uploaded to YouTube and caused further embarrassment. Owens filed criminal charges with the Los Angeles police department as well but law enforcement decided not to prosecute Martinez for attacking Owens in the airport.
This isn’t the first time that Olivier Martinez has lost his cool in the presence of the paps. In April 2013, TMZ caught video of Martinez getting ready to fight with a photographer while his wife Halle Berry literally held him back. It happened again in December of the same year where Martinez was filmed on the verge of hitting photographers who are trying to get a photo of his family. It was just a matter of time before Martinez struck someone and ended up fighting them in court.
