Tonight on NBC world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay’s television series Hell’s Kitchen where aspiring chefs compete returns with an all new Tuesday April 15, season 14 episode 7 called, “12 Chefs Compete,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, a Greek cuisine challenge judged by chef Michael Psilakis involves smashing plates and cooking delicious food. Later, one team is kicked out of the kitchen, leaving the other team to cover their orders.
On the last episode, following last week’s dinner service, during which both teams struggled, the remaining 13 contestants competed in a special lunch service honoring two unique charitable organizations consisting of active and retired firefighters of Los Angeles. The first team to complete a speedy and successful lunch service for 60 hungry firemen won an afternoon exploring the great outdoors of Malibu, CA, while the losing team was left behind with a fowl punishment. Then, as dinner service began, tensions emerged, causing Chef Ramsay to kick out multiple contestants in the middle of service. Find out who will be the in the Top 12 and who will go home. On tonight’s episode as per the NBC synopsis, “in this week’s challenge, the teams square off for Chef Ramsay’s first-ever Greek cuisine challenge. After an exciting race to smash plates to gather their ingredients, it is up to each contestant to create a delicious Greek-inspired dish. Each dish is then judged by Chef Ramsay and special guest Chef Michael Psilakis. The team that receives the highest cumulative score wins a high performance get-a-way at a go-kart racing track, while the losing team is stuck at Hell’s Kitchen preparing for the evening’s service. Then, after Chef Ramsay kicks out an entire team in the middle of a tough dinner service, the remaining team must cover twice the orders. Find out who is safe and who will go home.”

On tonight’s all new episode of Hell’s Kitchen, Chef Ramsay had pulled Josh aside o give him some advice. Apparently he felt like Josh could have honestly have stuck it out for the rest of the dinner service if he had only asked for help when he needed it. So that’s what he told him. Ramsay said don’t let your pride get in your way.
But was it pride that made Josh not ask for help or was it merely lack of skill? Later, as part of their challenge, each team had to cook a Greek dish with ingredients they randomly selected. And Josh’s dish was supposed to go up against Allison’s in a lamb cook-off. However Josh’s lamb was still bleeding on his plate. So something like that calls into question what he did the night before.
During the dinner service, Josh kept putting up raw meat and though he saw it was raw – he never asked anyone for help or tried to put it back in the oven. Instead he kept giving it to Ramsay as if it could cook itself. So is it just meat all together that he has a problem with or is there a bigger underlying problem?
Fortunately, despite their initial setback with Josh, the Blue team still managed to crawl their way into victory. Thanks in large part to the rest of their team putting in some effort. But there still seemed to be a problem with Milly.
Milly was fine when he was drag racing the other guys and even getting to meet Ms. California. But then Ramsay noticed that something was off with our favorite lovable giant. So he pulled the other man aside to figure what was wrong.
And, oddly, Milly is doubting himself. He says he needs more time in the kitchen and that he has more to learn. And Ramsay told him that he was learning. Milly is picking up new things all the time. Plus he was already a great cook so Ramsay told him not to doubt himself.

Meanwhile, as the ladies were cleaning up the dining room and gearing up for their next dinner service, it appears they finally reached their breaking point with Sarah. As for Sarah, she should be a name most of you recognize by now but if anyone needs any clarification then just think of it like this – Sarah is the one that somehow made it onto the show and yet continues to come off as someone lacking basic common sense. Technically that doesn’t mean she’s dumb. It merely states her brain is not being used.
And it really isn’t.
She actually managed to drive everyone up the wall with her questions. Where’s the vacuum, where’ the outlet, where’s extension cord? All of which none of them knew the answer to but Sara kept asking anyways. You know rather than look herself.
So the team was frazzled prior to their dinner service and it wasn’t that surprising when they opened their night with a few mistakes. However Sarah wasn’t at fault that time. That was shockingly enough Alison’s doing.
Generally Alison has her act together but on this particular night he kept screwing up on her station. So eventually Megan reappointed herself as the head chef. And with her back in charge, the Red team was expected to have another good night. But they didn’t!
Christine was found to be messing up on garnish so Megan stepped in to help. Then, when Megan to go back to working on her own station, once again Christine’s garnish fell apart. And in addition to that, there was also Sarah on meat station. Apparently she was like Christine as in she needed to be constantly watched or she was going to mess up everything.
Which she later did by the way. So, you know what, Ramsay had enough. He gave them time to recuperate and they simply never got their act together. Thus the Red team was thrown out of the kitchen. And they were told to elect two people for nomination.
Sarah was a sure thing but she claims it’s hard to cook in a kitchen where everyone hates her.
And after the Blue team finished cooking both their dishes and the Red team’s orders – it was time for elimination. Yet, Ramsay didn’t feel like accepting anyone’s excuses. And so Sarah’s “no one likes me” didn’t go down so well.
It didn’t faze Ramsay. And in the end, he chose to send Sarah home rather than look at other alternatives. Like allowing her to join the Blue team for instance.
He later said he felt like there was more she needed to learn and that this show wasn’t the place for it.
