Jahlil Okafor punched a man outside a Boston bar after a brief altercation and despite avoiding arrest for the gruesome attack, the nasty punch was caught on camera and Okafor is going to pay for the bar brawl one way or another.
The whole argument started outside a bar after the Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, November 25. Jahlil was heard screaming at the other man, saying, “We got money you broke ass n****.” Okafor and the unidentified man started to fight before Okafor is pulled away while trying to swing and fight with the other man.
Jahlil Okafor was seen on the video as he broke free from the group of men holding him back and kept swinging at the other man. One of those punches connected and the man was knocked to the ground pretty hard.
No one was arrested in the Boston bar brawl but that doesn’t mean that Jahlil Okafor is not off the hook. Especially because the shocking punch was caught on tape, the starting center for the 76ers might find himself dusting the bench for a while. Fans can expect Okafor to be suspended for at least one game, if not longer once NBA officials get a chance to review the tape.
It’s understandable that Okafor might be a little frustrated with the horrific start to the Philadelphia 76ers’ season. This is the second year in a row that Philadelphia has started their season with an embarrassing 0-16 record.
As for Okafor’s confrontation outside the bar, we’re left to wonder if he was betting on the outcome of the game or if he owed someone for a bar tab. In any case, Okafor was definitely in debt and the argument was about money.
Now that Jahlil Okafor has been caught on camera taking out another guy when it looks like he is the aggressor, let’s hope he really has some money saved up because Okafor might be looking at a lawsuit and now that the video is public, there might be some criminal legal ramifications to deal with too.
