John Travolta Praises Scientology on Good Morning America: Recruits During Interview

John Travolta waxed lyrical about Scientology during an interview with Good Morning America on Monday. He defended the ‘religion’ and called it a “beautiful thing” that “saved lives”. The interview follows on the heels of HBO’s controversial documentary, “Going Clear: Scientology and The Prison of Belief”, in which the cult-like religion is dissected like a frog on a serial killer’s table.

John Travolta’s love for Scientology dates back forty years – that’s four decades of cultish madness! No wonder the man’s face turned into a Jelly Baby’s nightmare. “I’ve loved every minute of it. My family has done so well with it. You know?” said Travolta. “I’ve saved lives with it, and saved my own life several times.”

And that’s how you sell ice to an Eskimo!

The interview reeks of ‘damage control’. Travolta is the Botox-face of Scientology, and since there’s no infomercial channel for aspiring Scientologists, an interview on a nationally syndicated television show was the best and only option. Despite a crumbling face, people still adore “the man with the dimples and the baby-blue eyes”, plus Travolta isn’t nearly as insane as Tom Cruise.

Travolta pitched Scientology literature: “People really need to take the time and read a book. You know? That’s my advice. You could read ‘A New Slant on Life’, you could read ‘Dianetics’. And I think if you really read it, you’ll understand, but unless you do, you’ll speculate.” And also lashed out at the critics: “I haven’t experienced anything that the hearsay has [claimed], so why would I communicate something that wasn’t true for me? It wouldn’t make sense, nor would it for Tom [Cruise], I imagine. So, why would I even approach a negative perspective? That would be a crime to me, personally, to do that.”

How many people did John Travolta recruit? I don’t know, but the idea sends chills down my spine. And they’re multiplying.
