Kaitlyn Bristowe is determined to make it down the aisle with her Bachelorette 2015 winner Shawn Booth and not break-up, but there are some major obstacles in their way. First is Kaitlyn’s love of the limelight. Shawn wants them to get to know each other out of the spotlight but Kaitlyn doesn’t seem ready to take a break from reality TV. Not only is she considering a stint on Dancing with the Stars, but she’s also pondering writing a tell-all book about her Bachelorette experience.
Both will keep Kaitlyn’s name front and center which is aggravating Shawn who was hoping once the finale and reunion show aired, they could enjoy some peace and quiet and finally get to know each other. Shawn did the rounds of talk shows with Kaitlyn, put on a happy face, and was ready to settle down, but that’s when the cracks in their relationship started to show. They’re bickering over where to live and when to get married.
But despite the arguments, both Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth are determined to break The Bachelorette curse and tie the knot. Also adding fuel to the relationship fire is that news just broke that Shawn reached out to his ex girlfriend two weeks before the finale aired – after he and Kaitlyn had been engaged for weeks! The ex blabbed about Shawn’s attempts to contact her and said he tried to call her multiple times on July 11.
The ex told a tabloid that Shawn texted her as well as called and when she asked about his relationship status, he texted back that he was “technically engaged.” What does that mean? And was he just texting when he and Kaitlyn were in the middle of an argument or is that a sign that he’s making plans to pursue another romance? And to make matters worse, the ex he was texting was a major relationship – they dated in college and were on and off for six years before she broke it off.
Shawn had reportedly been trying to get back with his ex after their 2012 split but she had refused to renew the romance. And their break up may spell doom for Kaitlyn and Shawn – they were serious and planning to wed but broke it off when they couldn’t agree where to live. Shawn needed to move for work and the ex couldn’t bear to be away from family, so she split with him. And now Shawn and Kaitlyn are in a “where to live” debate.
The ex also said that Shawn was extremely jealous which contributed to their break-up. And now Kaitlyn is contemplating a run on Dancing with the Stars where she’ll be in the arms of a hot dance partner for hours-long daily rehearsals and steamy performances. You can’t imagine that will sit well with Shawn who was famously jealous (and with some cause) of Kaitlyn’s interactions with Nick Viall while filming the Bachelorette.
For now, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth have said they have no immediate wedding plans but when they do they may do one for TV and then a “real” one for friends and family. Kaitlyn also insists she wants babies within five years. We’ll see if these two can make it – so few Bachelor and Bachelorette couples do…
