PETA is probably hoping to recruit Kate Middleton to their cause, because they have reportedly sent her a high-end faux wool green coat for her 33rd birthday. PETA UK founder reportedly said, “Fashion is about more than looking good – it’s also a statement about who you are and what you stand for.”
Kate Middleton’s 33rd birthday – which arrives this Friday – will probably be celebrated in quiet with just close family and friends, even though the public will have a chance to wish her during her next royal engagement on January 15th.
Kate Middleton has continued staying out of the limelight recently, probably because she fears overexposure after her back-to-back royal engagements and NYC trip last month. After taking a ‘break’ during her Hyperemesis Gravidarum morning sickness, Kate was forced to return to work and get back in the full swing of things with nary a holiday. The fact that she is pregnant and just recovered from a major illness didn’t seem to cross Queen Elizabeth’s mind, which might explain why Kate’s been so passive aggressive with her behavior lately.
To be fair, Kate’s also finally started fighting back against all these stifling royal customs, chief among them ditching Kensington Palace and moving to Anmer Hall. Even if she accepts PETA’s green coat as a gift [which she might, for fear of causing an incident if nothing else], she won’t really get photographed wearing it as much as PETA probably hopes. Kate’s going into hiding for the next few months, in preparation for giving birth. We know she’s already self-conscious about her weight gain and baby bump, and she’s going to hide out from the public and the media at Anmer Hall – and candid snaps at Anmer Hall are few and far between.
