Is Kate Middleton afraid? Kate Middleton was already feeling the pressures of having a young toddler, Prince George, preparing for a second child, attending required public events, battling acute morning sickness, and dealing with an extreme pain that she cannot shake…Queen Elizabeth. In addition to her problems as of late, Kate Middleton’s also had to deal with another Royal Family sex scandal involving hubby Prince William’s uncle, Prince Andrew, Duke of York. The Duchess of Cambridge now has yet more stress to overcome as she’s got several new security guards with her everywhere she goes, and they are toting tasers in an effort to ensure The Duchess’ safety. Of course Queen Elizabeth is an old hand at dealing with increased security risks having weathered IRA and other threats for decades and is less affected by the current dangerous environment.
E! Online reported that Kensington Palace is taking extra security measures in an effort to ensure the safety of Kate Middleton and Prince William in light of The United Kingdom’s terror threat level being raised to “severe” level “in response to conflicts in Iraq and Syria,” said Home Security Theresa May. Of course the recent increase in Islamic terrorist activities across Europe (example, the Charlie Hebdo mass murder in Paris) have forced an increase in vigilance across the board for all security and police forces.
Kate Middleton was noticeably agitated with all the extra security during a visit to The Fostering Network’s London headquarters on Friday, where she met with foster caregivers, children, and staff. Not only did she have added security, her Scotland Yard bodyguards were, for the first time, wearing stun guns and pistols in addition to their usual firearms and reportedly were wearing stab vests as well.
Once the graceful princess was inside and interacting with everyone, she seemed her normal self, smiling and talking with everyone while enjoying snacks. Though Kate looked classy in her dark brown shirtdress, critics immediately began asking where her barely-visible baby bump was. It was extremely hard to believe The Duchess is six months along with such a tiny baby belly. Perhaps all the stress has curbed her appetite. Having the extra security may be comforting, but it is different and can seem intrusive at times. Further, Kate worries about her safety and the safety of her unborn child. Kate is hoping things will go back to normal soon. Whatever “normal” is when you are part of The Royal Family!
