Prince William’s pregnant wife, Kate Middleton, has devoted the last few years of her life producing royal heirs to the throne, like Prince George, keeping up appearances for the Royal Family, and bending over backwards to meet Queen Elizabeth’s strict expectations. It’s no secret that the Duchess of Cambridge has had a tough time over the years behaving like the perfect princess Queen Elizabeth has been trying to groom her to be become, and it looks like Kate Middleton has finally had enough of Royal protocols and absurd rules and restrictions. Since recovering from crippling morning sickness during her second pregnancy this fall, we have seen a whole new side of Prince William’s wife – a “Princess of the People” and a mother who loves bonding with Prince George.
The latest edition of OK! Magazine reveals, “On her trip last month to New York City with Prince William and now back at home, the Duchess of Cambridge has served notice that she wants to be on a relaxed, dressed-down, first name basis with the public, and while the palace is still adjusting to the new Kate – her hubby is all for it.” Kate Middleton created a media firestorm during the Royal trip to New York City when she actually showed up to an event in a hoodie, encouraged children she was meeting with to call her by her name and not her title, pigged out a basketball game, rolled her eyes at a woman at an event, and even allowed LeBron James to put his arm around her for a photo.
A palace insider dished to OK! that Kate Middleton is much more relaxed than she used to be now that she is well into her second pregnancy — she feels like she has done her duty and has provided the Royal Family with an heir and a spare, so now she can settle down and be herself again. However, it goes without saying that Queen Elizabeth is not happy with the “new Kate.” The Queen is very old-fashioned when it comes to Royal protocol and expectations — and in her mind, Kate Middleton is evolving into Princess Diana 2.0. Camilla Parker-Bowles is not a fan of the “new Kate” either, but for completely different reasons. It’s no secret that the public loves Kate Middleton and despises Camilla Parker-Bowles, and now that Kate is becoming a “Princess of the People” it is making it even more difficult for Camilla to compete with her.
