After missing a series of public appearances, weddings, and even a christening, royal circles are whispering about the Duchess of Cambridge after Kate skips another event. To make the situation even more eyebrow raising, she sent Pippa Middleton in her place to watch over Prince William. Something is definitely wrong with the Duchess and the Duke!
Kate has the rumor mill working in full force after failing to appear at the wedding of estate agent Bear Maclean and socialite Daisy Dickson, the Daily Mail reports. The Duchess of Cambridge was due to attend the nuptials; her name was on the seating plan. A spot was reserved at the top table with Prince William… but Kate Middleton did not attend.
A source shared with the media outlet, “The names William and Catherine Wales were written on the plan, which appeared on an antique-looking mirror.” However, Prince William showed up with Pippa Middleton, and no excuses were given for Kate Middleton’s absence. “No one knows why. Everyone was talking about it over breakfast the next morning. They stayed on the next day and night, too, attending lunch in the marquee together,” the royal insider added. “The plan was for everyone to go and do a river estuary swim afterwards.”
This isn’t the first wedding Kate has snubbed, sending William to attend solo. Tom van Straubenzee, a close friend of William, married and asked Prince William to be an usher. Instead of attending the wedding and supporting William and his friend, Kate was photographed shopping instead. The reception must have been a good time, the Duke of Cambridge knocked out his tooth returning home to Kate bleary-eyed. That might explain why Pippa Middleton was watching over William this past weekend.
However, Kate Middleton’s biggest snub had to be skipping the christening of Zara Phillips’s daughter, Mia. Don’t forget, Zara is Prince George’s godmother. So, when Kate was spotted healthy and happy during a shopping trip 3 days before missing Mia’s christening, it was a huge surprise. Kate’s unexpected absence at the wedding is part of a string of missed social events. The Duchess has snubbed 4 other weddings, sending Prince William to go to the event without her.
There could be a hundred different reasons for Kate’s absence at these social events. Kate might have been tending to an ill baby. Perhaps Prince George or Princess Charlotte wasn’t well? Yet, that excuse doesn’t explain her absence at 4 other weddings, the christening of Zara Phillip’s daughter, and the funeral of William’s beloved nanny. Since Kate became Prince William’s wife, her attendance to events has been on the decline.
