We knew it was only a matter of time before Kim Kardashian had to find her way back into the spotlight. There was no way that she could let Caitlyn Jenner steal her shine, especially since it was just revealed that Kim Kardashian was pregnant with her second child. Now information has surfaced that Kim Kardashian may not be pregnant with just one child, but two. That’s right, is it possible that Kim Kardashian is having twins?
Kim Kardashian, 34, might be giving birth to twins after it was allegedly reported that she had undergone in vitro fertilization treatments to get pregnant. Kim has made it no secret that she has been trying very hard for baby number two, but she also revealed that it has not been easy. She told E! News prior to announcing her pregnancy, “we are trying. We try every single day. You can’t try harder than we try. It’s getting exhausting. He always say, ‘Trying for baby No2. isn’t as fun as trying for baby No.1’ But we’re literally trying everything that we can to make it happen, so I’m to the point now where it’s not as stressful to me. And maybe that’s when they say it happens.”
That being said, it makes perfect sense for Kim Kardashian to try in vitro fertilization, and a source is telling NY Daily News that is exactly what the reality star did. The inside source says, “Kim has told a handful of people that she had in vitro and that two eggs were fertilized. She is waiting to see if they both ‘stick’ before she makes any kind of announcement. She has to wait and see if they are both OK. And she is waiting to get an OK from her doctor that both fertilized eggs are healthy.”
Dr. Sam Najmabadi spoke out about how IVF increases the chances of having twins. Najmabadi tells Hollywood Life how it is not easy to request only one child during IVF and says, “In IVF we can put in 1 embryo back into the uterus, which will reduce the chance of multiple pregnancies. By doing [this] there is still a small chance of the embryo splitting, or not getting pregnant at all. The standard of care says on day 5 you can transfer up to 3 embryos into the uterus of anyone above age 40. Below age 40 is 1-2 embryos.”
