In May, rumors erupted that Nina Dobrev was hanging out with DJ Zedd, and she posted a photo on Instagram of her and Zedd looking very much like a couple. Unfortunately, Nina is very close friends with Selena Gomez – sources said that Nina would never act on her feelings for Zedd because she didn’t want to hurt Selena. However, this week, Zedd’s fellow DJ (sorta) friend, Diplo, dropped a bomb in an interview and revealed that Selena and Zedd were never actually dating. They faked the whole relationship for publicity!
So, if Selena and Zedd were never dating, doesn’t that mean he is fair game for Nina Dobrev? No wonder Selena Gomez didn’t seem to mind that her BFF and ex-boyfriend were hanging out. Zedd was never actually her boyfriend! Nina and Zedd already have a ton of supporters, and they haven’t even confirmed nor denied that they are (or were) in a relationship. Maybe the reason that Selena and Zedd “broke up” and pulled the plug on their showmance had nothing to do with Selena’s ex Justin Bieber. Maybe they went their separate ways so that Zedd could be with the girl he actually liked – Nina Dobrev.
There are certainly going to be a lot of disappointed fans out there who are not happy about Selena and Zedd faking their relationship just to sell their new single “I Want You To Know.” But this story could still end with a happy ending, and Nina Dobrev and DJ Zedd could wind up being the hottest new super couple. Maybe Nina’s new relationship will finally put a stop to Nikki Reed’s rubbing Nina’s face in her marriage to Ian Somerhalder on social media.
