Rick Ross just started what is sure to be an epic feud with Presidential hopeful Donald Trump. It looks like Ross can be added to the lengthy list of celebs that absolutely despise Donald Trump. In Ross’s new song, “Free Enterprise,” the rapper sings, “Assassinate Trump like I’m Zimmerman, Now accept these words as they came from Eminem, Democratic party sent us to the pendulum.”
Although the verse was brief, it did not go unnoticed, and since Ross’s new album ‘Black Market’ hit the internet, it seems to be pretty much all that anyone is talking about. It could just be a very clever marketing tactic; what better way to sell your music than to jump on the anti Donald Trump bandwagon? Then again, it’s Donald Trump, so no one would be shocked if Rick Ross truly didn’t like the man. If it were anyone else, Rick Ross would probably receive a ton of backlash for rapping about assassinating a Presidential hopeful, but he seems to have been given a free pass on this one.
What is interesting is that “Free Enterprise” is a collaboration – and you would never guess who else is on the track with Rick Ross, none other than John Legend! Just this week John Legend’s outspoken wife Chrissy Teigen (who is also pregnant) got in to a heated Twitter dispute with Donald Trump himself. So, if John Legend didn’t co-sign on Rick Ross’s controversial lyrics, then he most likely does now. Now, we just sit back and wait for Donald Trump To cause a scene and fire back, this should get interesting.
Do you think that Rick Ross crossed a line? If it were about anyone else besides Donald Trump, would listeners be this okay with it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
