Robert Pattinson recently did an interview with the German version of Cosmopolitan (how does that even happen by the way?) and whined about his annoyance with his fame. Let’s get this straight – the guy did know he was seeking a career as a paid actor and successful actors end up famous. So was R-Patz aspiring to be an unsuccessful non-famous actor? Was he shooting for mediocrity?
Good looks aside, Robert Pattinson is a total waste of space – and even his looks are overrated – the guy has a shovel face. And now he’s sitting for an interview with Cosmopolitan, albeit the Deutsch version, fussing about fame. If Pattinson isn’t interested in fame, why pray tell, is he even doing interviews at all, much less with a ladies magazine designed to attract female attention?
Here’s what the (not) Rhodes scholar said, “I never wanted to become famous. I’m satisfied with small things. The more famous I got, the more I wanted to hide. I was irritated by the hype.” Then Pattinson goes on to insult the fans responsible for his success and prosperity saying, “It’s much better now. The Twilight fans got older and it’s a lot more relaxed now.” Wow. What a d*ck.
Back in 2004 (give or take a few months), a previously unheard of Robert Pattinson auditioned for one of the most popular movie franchises of all time – the Harry Potter saga. He could have stuck to minor stage productions or independent films. Robert Pattinson had countless opportunities to NOT be famous, so waaah on him being famous, which is what he was so obviously trying to achieve.
Oh yeah, R-Patz, you also didn’t have to date Kristen Stewart, your Twilight co-star knowing that would exacerbate the teen fan obsession. And… you didn’t have to take up with FKA Twigs, a famous musician, as your next romance. So, are we to believe that this flat-faced British Ken doll really didn’t want to be famous. Poor, poor famous rich guy. Can someone hand him a tissue please?
Here’s more of his pathetic lament. Pattinson also told Deutsche Cosmo: “I can’t walk around without being recognized. If people would say a quick ‘hello’, it would be fine, but every second person wants to do a selfie.” Oh no. Really? The people that buy the tickets to your movies and allow you to live your fabulous life want to show you how much they like you. That’s horrifying. How do you stand it?
But when asked the best perk of being a celebrity, Robert Pattinson was quick to show how he likes to abuse his fame saying, “I can choose my roles and… can go around the queue at the airport. That is the best by far and I don’t want to miss it.” So let’s see, you don’t have to stand in line with those annoying mortals you hate and can do whatever you want and be paid for it.
Twilight was his meal ticket, the reason for his fame and the only reason he can now pick and choose scripts rather than twirling his shovel face around on Dancing with the Stars. So, can we all just take a moment of silence for Robert Pattinson’s lost privacy? Although if R-Patz keeps picking stellar scripts like Bel Ami and Little Ashes, he may find his privacy restored rather quickly.
