RECAP:
Tonight’s episode of Rosewood kicks off with Dr. Rosewood on the beach for his morning workout, enjoying the sunrise. Meanwhile, in a mansion – a man falls over the balcony on to his livingroom floor and appears to be dead. A man races out of the house after he checks on the body on the floor and hops in his care and leaves. Rosewood is at brunch with his girlfriend – her phone goes off and she says she has to leave, one of her patients has an emergency.
Hornstock and Villa are waiting at the airport for a shuttle driver to return – it’s the guy that just left the dead man’s house. When he pulls up, they arrest him and take him in to custody for murdering Albert Page. Meanwhile, Rosewood stops by the morgue and gives Max tickets to the opera and checks out the dead body. He mentions to Max that it looks like the victim might have been dead before he dropped 18 feet.
Hornstock has the killer in the interrogation room – he insists that he was innocent and he was “trying to help that dude.” Hornstock is certain that he is guilty, he has an eye twitch and dry mouth – so Rosewood says that he is scared to death and innocent. Rosewood takes HOrnstock aside and says that he wants to work the case, he even agrees to do it for free.
Rosewood stop by his mom’s office to look at her old yearbooks, apparently the suspect Dante was one of her students when he was in foster care – before he dropped out of school. Afterwards, he heads to the crime scene where Villa is working. They come to the conclusion that the victim was already dead before he hit the floor because there is no blood spatter.
Villa heads to therapy, with Rosewood’s girlfriend. They talk about her co-workers, and Villa tells her about how frustrated she gets when she has to work with Rosewood. But she doesn’t say his name. Villa points out that she is wearing a wedding ring, and she must be cheating on her husband. Rosewood’s girlfriend reveals that her and her husband are separated, because she can’t get pregnant and have kids.
At the lab, Pippy and TMI are working on Albert Page’s body. His sister Pippy teases him about his girlfriend, apparently she and TMI have been gambling on his sex life. Rosewood tells them to get to work. Pippy realizes that Rosewood has been running tests on his own blood again – and his bones are decalcifying. Rosewood looks at Albert’s body and realizes that it is covered in red blotches, he runs out of the lab.
Rosewood visits Dante in his prison cell, he says that he knows that he was just performing CPR on Albert and he was telling the truth. Dante says that he just wanted to “see what it was like to live like Albert for one night.” Apparently he was sleeping in his house while he was away. Rosewood finds a picture in Dante’s cell – he is an artist, and he drew a picture of the beach looking out from Albert’s house. Dante snaps at Rosewood that just because they are black doesn’t mean that they are the same person.
Back at the lab, Pippy and TMI have a breakthrough, they realize that Albert was poisoned – with antifreeze. It will make you seem drunk, but you are actually slowly dying from the poison. Rosewood remembers that Dante was acting like he was on drugs in his prison cell. He runs and gets Hornstock and they race to Dante’s cell to check on him – but he is unconscious. Apparently, he was poisoned with the antifreeze too. They get Dante to the hospital in time and are able to save him.
After Dante is patched up, Rosewood takes him to Albert’s house. He shows him what he drank out of the refridgerator. While they are checking out the house, Villa finds footprints in the backyard. Whoever the print belongs to is the guy that broke in to the sliding glass door. While Villa and Rosewood are outback bickering – someone fires shots at them and then runs off.
They had back to the precinct and call their informant Joo Joo – they think he might be able to help them with Albert’s car – they noticed that it is full of fake Lambrighini parts. Joo Joo looks at the fake car parts, Joo Joo admits that he has a nephew named Delroy Ellis who sells counterfeit car parts. Villa gets a warrant for Ellis. Meanwhile, Rosewood doesn’t want to wait for the judge to sign the warrant – so he pays Ellis a visit at his car lot. He convinces Ellis to take one of the cars for a spin and he gets his shoe print off from the gas pedal. While Rosewood and Ellis are in the car, Rosewood reveals to Ellis that he knows that he killed Albert Page.
Villa arrives at the car lot, Ellis and Rosewood are nowhere to be saw. Athlete Chris Bosh rolls up to the dealership with his Ferrari, Villa takes his car and starts racing down the highway to catch up to Rosewood and Ellis. Villa catches up to them and cuts them off – she arrests Ellis for Albert’s murder. Afterwards, Villa invites Rosewood out for a slice of pie, it gets super awkward, and he turns her down and says that he has to go to a family dinner – he takes Dante along to meet his mother.
