Rumer Willis and her pro dancing partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, could win Dancing With The Stars. Going into the Season 20 finale, the couple has been an obvious front-runner. But does Rumer’s mom Demi Moore want her daughter to lose? Demi and Rumer have had a complicated and unhealthy mother-daughter relationship for years. It’s no secret that Demi Moore feels seriously threatened by her daughter – to the point that she has even dated guys that Rumer liked.
Demi Moore obviously wouldn’t miss a chance to be in the limelight and show up at Dancing With The Stars and cheer on her daughter Rumer. She has gushed in clips about how proud she is of her daughter. But insiders say that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Obviously, Demi has to play the supportive mother role on camera, but behind closed doors she is a jealous wreck over all of the attention and rave reviews Rumer has been receiving. The last thing she wants is for her daughter to win Dancing With The Stars and steal her thunder.
It’s unclear when exactly Demi’s twisted obsession with outdoing her daughter Rumer began – general consensus is it began when she was with Ashton Kutcher. Ashton and Rumer were very close (probably because they were practically the same age), and Demi always felt threatened by their connection. The fact that now Ashton is supporting Rumer on DWTS, and Rumer recently confessed in an interview that she had a crush on Ashton when he was married to her mother, most likely aren’t helping matters.
A source close to the complicated family dished to CDL, “Demi hates that everyone loves Rumer. She only compliments Rumer on camera, after her performances Demi always critiques her dance and tells her what steps she missed or how her costume ‘didn’t do anything for her.’ Demi is a ticking time bomb, if Rumer wins this competition she is going to have a full blown jealous breakdown.”
