Was Selena Gomez ever dating DJ Zedd, or did they just fake their relationship to boost sales of their single “I Want You To Know?” When Selena Gomez and Zedd dating rumors first began making their rounds on the internet in 2015, a lot of fans were skeptical of their supposed relationship. Were they really dating, or just leading everyone on to create buzz for their collaboration on “I Want You To Know?” According to Diplo, Selena and Zedd played us all – and they were never in a relationship!
Diplo, aka Thomas Wesley Pentz, was never one to mince words or bite his tongue – and when it comes to his thoughts on DJ Zedd’s new album, he definitely didn’t hold back. Not only did he slam the music, and say that EDM is not even a genre, but in a recent interview he even accused Zedd of faking his relationship with Selena Gomez to sell records. After tweeting that Zedd’s new album was basically trash, or a poop emoji, Diplo sat down for an interview with Rdio.com.
Diplo dished on Zedd’s new album, “I’m actually not enemies with Zedd by any means. I just think that he came from a really cool place and now he is being pegged as a moneymaker by a major label to do EDM, which to me is not even a genre. But they pegged him for that. They’re marketed him, even the fake relationship with Selena Gomez, all the things to sell records took away from the music.”
We’re going to have to agree with Diplo on this one. Selena Gomez and Zedd’s relationship is looking faker and faker every day. Not only did they magically stop “dating” as soon as they were done promoting “I Want You To Know,” but if you think back they never actually confirmed they were together. Selena and Zedd carefully danced around the topic in interviews, they never actually said they were dating – they just implied it, and didn’t deny it.
