Selena Gomez is dating Ed Sheeran, supposedly, but we’re all having a tough time buying it after she faked a relationship with her “I Want You To Know” collaborator, DJ Zedd, to promote their song. And she has been accused on more than one occasion of encouraging rumors that she is hooking up with her ex Justin Bieber again to promote her music too. We really can’t blame her though, at the end of the day she is a business woman – and she clearly knows what she needs to do to keep her name in the news. But some of her diehard fans are getting a little frustrated with all of these fake “relationships.”
Selena Gomez always played coy when asked about her boyfriend Zedd. She never actually confirmed they were dating and she didn’t deny it either – basically, she said a whole lot of nothing. But, in May, Diplo totally outted Selena and Zedd and stated in an interview that they never actually dated and the entire relationship was a publicity scam – which didn’t go over well with the couple’s supporters. Gomez finally opened up about dating Zedd, and tried to set the record straight.
On Tuesday, June 30 Selena sat down for an interview on New Zealand’s radio show, “The Edge Afternoon.” Obviously, the first question they asked Selena was about Diplo’s accusations. Selena laughed off what Diplo said, and claimed it was all a joke and Diplo supposedly told her he didn’t mean it. Selena added, “First off, it’s very interesting that Diplo would think he knew about my personal life, but he doesn’t. I adore Zedd a lot and I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice.”
