Is Selena Gomez joining Broadway? Selena’s BFF Vanessa Hudgens recently took Broadway by storm with her performance in the iconic role of Gigi, and rumor has it that Selena Gomez is hoping to follow in her footsteps. Selena is currently finishing up her highly-anticipated album “Revival,” which has a release date of October 9 2015, and then she wants to dive back in to acting and she thinks Broadway would be the perfect way to do so.
An insider dished in this week’s edition of OK! Magazine, “Selena is being pitched to Broadway producers for a leading role in a musical. She knows the music market is swamped right now and she would love to give her acting career a lift. She wants to leave Los Angeles for a while and try something new. Selena is definitely nervous to change course, but if she pulls it off it will give her so much confidence.”
Selena Gomez announced in an interview early in 2015 that she was excited to show the world the “new Selena,” and 2015 is definitely the pop-singer’s year. Fresh off her break-up with Justin Bieber, SelGo has debuted her hot new image in some chart-topping songs, and she seems to just be getting started. Landing a role in Broadway would be a great way to top off a successful year. At this point Selena Gomez seems unstoppable, but Broadway is not like Hollywood – and she might learn the hard way that being Selena Gomez doesn’t carry as much merit on the East Coast as it does on the West Coast.
