Selena Gomez is banking on sex selling her new music. Selena is learning the hard way that promoting her new album “Revival” without Justin Bieber is much harder than she thought that it would be without being able to use her relationship with her ex-boyfriend for free publicity. Biebs and Selena had a falling out earlier this year, and Justin realized that she was just using him to drum up publicity for her new album. Since then, Justin has gone out of his way to disassociate himself from SelGo – and it is becoming pretty clear from her single sales that Justin was definitely helping out her career.
Without her on-again and off-again relationship with Justin Bieber giving her free press, Selena has had to resort to other ways to get press – like taking her clothes off on Instagram. On Thursday September 3 Selena posted a nearly naked photo on Instagram, the singer was posing in sexy black lingerie. One could argue that Selena just was feeling a little sexy and wanted to flaunt her curves on social media – but that clearly wasn’t the case when you read the caption. The singer captioned the photo, “You guys can still sign up for my little REVIVAL event in September because I wanna meet yall and share some stuff so….”
So, basically Selena is stripping down to her underwear to lure fans on Instagram to sign up for her album party. Seriously? We get that sex sells, and we get that dating Justin Bieber sells … but when is she going to use her music to sell her music? Gomez is constantly using guys and her body to promote her album and singles (ex: DJ Zedd). Why does she always need some sort of gimmick? Does SelGo think her product is that weak?
