TLC’s reality show Sister Wives returns tonight with an all new Sunday January 18, season 5 episode 12 called “Courting Another Wife” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode Kody and Christine’s blowup continues as the Browns near the final destination of their road trip. Later, they discuss the idea of courting a new wife with another polygamist family.
On the last episode, the Browns began a road trip to meet another polygamist family. They checked in on Christine’s mother who had planned of moving to Vegas. Next, they visit their old home in Utah and were overwhelmed by past emotions. And Kody did something to upset one wife. Did you watch the last episode? On tonight’s episode as per TLC’s synopsis, “the blow up between Kody and Christine continues as they approach their final destination. Can Kody get to the root of the problem? Later, the Browns meet another polygamist family, the Colliers and discuss the idea of the Colliers courting another wife.”

The Brown family has been on the road for four days now and the tension is starting to get to everyone. Last week, Christine opposed a family visit with Ken who not only happened to be a longtime friend of Kody’s but who was also pretty vocal about being against plural families. An example of that would be when Ken once made a comment about Kody returning to the church. Kody’s supposedly good friend then went on to state that would only be possible if Kody dropped three wives. So ever since then Christine has been on edge whenever Ken comes up. And though she clearly said she didn’t want their family around him – Kody still called Ken anyways to see if they could make a stop by his house.
Luckily, Ken wasn’t available when Kody called him but it’s the fact her husband completely ignored her feelings on the matter is what has Christine in a mood. And its that mood that’s upset everyone else.
Christine’s sister wives stayed out of Christie and Kody’s fight. But when the time came for Christine to apologize, she made that apology to them as well. For Christine is sorry that something she said has turned her family upside down. But she’s also still angry at Kody. Because Kody hasn’t accepted Christine’s feelings and until he does then he’s going to keep on pushing her into an association with Ken that she does not want!
Later, after things had somewhat settled, the family paid a visit to the Colliers. The Colliers are another polygamous family and funnily enough like monogamous people – The Brown family is curious about the Colliers. The Colliers are very open about being polygamous and they also didn’t shy away from the fact they’re currently courting a third wife that just so happens to be good friend of one of the wives.
Nathan Collier seems to be a good man and the Brown family all liked him. Christine was probably the one to take the mot shine to him and she told Kody that maybe he should start hanging out with guys like Nathan. You know, so he won’t be stuck with only guys like Ken.
But the visit wasn’t always peaceful. The Colliers took the Browns out to go for a ride on ATVs and that brought back a lot of memories for Dayton. Dayton was in a nasty accident the last time he was on one of those so he was apprehensive about getting back on.
Yet a quick conversation with his mom helped him get over his fear. So he did get back on the ATV and he saw for himself there was no reason to be frightened.
