#SurvivorFinale starts now – and the cast for Season 31 will be revealed later tonight as well. Wonder who will win white collar vs blue collar vs no collar. 35 days ago, Survivor Season 30 started and we get a look back at how the season started in the three tribes. Five are left – Sierra, Will, Carolyn, Rodney and Mike. We see the group come back to the camp after Tribal when Dan was sent home.
Carolyn asks Will if he voted for her and he says he does. Mike laughs and says they’re still talking about getting him out. He says Carolyn has Stockholm Syndrome for dealing with them. Rodney demands to know why Carolyn didn’t tell him she had an idol. Carolyn says Mike has her back but he doesn’t have the numbers. Carolyn says it’s game on since there are no more idols or advantages.
Carolyn says her strategy is to join forces against the common enemy for now. Mike talks about how alone in the game he is once again. It’s time for the first challenge of the finale. Jeff welcomes everyone to the #RewardChallenge. They have to slide tiles into a target then move the tiles through an obstacle course then sort the tiles to unlock a combination lock. The first person wins reward which is tied to their family members.
Carolyn’s husband Joe is there and she runs and hugs him. Mike’s mom Debra is there and he gives her a big hug. He talks about his mom’s amazing work ethic. Rodney’s dad Rodney Sr is there and Rodney goes cry baby again then he calls his dad “brother” repeatedly. Sierra’s dad Danny is there and Will’s wife. Jeff says the winner will get time with their loved one back at camp and the winner also gets an advantage in the upcoming immunity challenge.
Will is first out of the net – I’ve never seen him make a real effort in a challenge! Everyone is now at their tables sliding tiles. Will, Mike and Rodney are in the lead. Jeff comments that Will is finally performing. Mike is the first to get all his tiles and he stacks them on the machete and starts walking. Will is behind him. Mike makes it to the table and has to run back for the next stack. Will has to go back when he falters.
Rodney and Sierra get all of theirs while Mike is on his second run. Carolyn is still working on her. Mike is back at his table as Will drops and has to head back. Mike heads back for his third stack. Will falls again at the end and falls hard. Sierra falls before she makes it to the platform. Mike is back with his final stack and only Rodney has another stack. Will finally makes it back with one then Sierra. Mike is pairing his tiles. Rodney drops his and has to go back. Mike has his paired up.
He has three numbers and he tries his combination but the first set doesn’t work. Sierra is matching her tiles. Mike tries another order of his three numbers. It doesn’t work. Sierra has caught up to him. Mike tries another combination. He gets it and wins reward. He runs joyfully over to his mom and gives her a kiss. Jeff tells everyone to say goodbye to their loved ones except for Mike. The others head out and Mike takes his mom over to stand with Jeff.
Jeff says Debra will hang out and spend the night then Mike and his mom will be taken the next morning to the site of the next immunity challenge. Back at camp, Mike’s mom gets to sit in a chair and Mike is so excited to have her there. He says he loves her more than anyone else in the world. Carolyn talks about how skinny Mike is and they tell him to show her his stomach. Debra says her little boy still looks better than she expected. They all chat with his mom then he pulls her away to talk.
Mike tells her that he’s been on his own and they’ve villainized him to have a common enemy. He says he’s gone a couple of days without any of them even talking to him. He says he’s on his own. Debra says she wants to be what he needs to get him through at the end. They soak in the ocean and he says it’s been battle after battle. Mike says talking with her has given him so much peace. He says this is the best day he’s had in 36 days. He calls it a top 10 moment of his life.
The next morning, Mike and his mom find a hint about the challenge. They will have to go through a maze blindfolded and he’ll have 30 minutes to go through the maze led by his mom. Debra realizes she has led him the wrong way in the maze. She tells him she’s sorry that she’s not better at it. The time runs out. He never got to the middle. She feels terrible that she messed this up for him. She says Mike wouldn’t say that she let him down, but she says she knows that she did.
It’s time for the #ImmunityChallenge. Jeff takes back the immunity necklace from Mike. Jeff says they will be blindfolded in the center of a giant maze. They have to find four medallions in each of the four corners. Once they get four, they then go find the immunity necklace. First to find it, wins it and will have a one in four shot to win the game. They are all five blindfolded and in the center of the maze. Jeff tells the others that Mike had an advantage and wonders if it will pay off.
Sierra walks right by a set of medallions. Mike is first to find the East medallion and heads back out. Sierra stumbles across some and lands one as well. Mike finds his second and Rodney is right on top of him and gets his first. Will walks right by a stand of medallions. Mike finds his third medallion. He has just one to go. Rodney stumbles into Mike then his second medallion. Rodney then helps both Sierra and Will. Then Carolyn calls out to them.
They are trying to help each other just to beat Mike. Carolyn gets her first. Everyone is on the board. Mike is right in front of the last medallion and nabs it. Now he just has to find the immunity necklace. Mike goes back to the guide post and just has to get there. Mike has his hands on the immunity necklace and takes it. That’s his fourth individual immunity win. Woot woot! Love that Mike got it. Mike brings the necklace to Jeff and he congratulates Mike on his win.
That puts Mike in the final four. He tells them to head back to camp and that he’ll see them at Tribal tonight. The Survivors head back to camp. Now the scrambling will start. They grudgingly congratulate Mike and now Carolyn says the core alliance has to turn on each other and she has no immunity idol to protect her. Mike goes to get firewood and Carolyn goes with him. Mike talks to Sierra and Carolyn and the women want to vote out Rodney since he’s lazier around camp than Will.
Mike says he needs a guarantee and says in the challenge, he heard them all working together against him. Sierra is scared and says she’ll do what Mike wants. Sierra says she and Mike had a past bond and says 100% she will go Rodney tonight. Mike says he’d like to finish up with players, not coattail riders. They make a final three pact. Sierra says she’s happy with this. Mike and Rodney lie in the hammock and Rodney asks what he’s thinking.
Mike tells Rodney that it’s between him and someone else. Mike says the girls are gunning for him and Rodney says Sierra. Rodney says “those broads” are hilarious and then he goes off with Mike and starts talking trash about the women. Rodney says he’s “keeping it real” and says he’s made himself look bad with the jury and says he has a better chance going to the finals with “Rodney the vulgar asshole” than Sierra. Mike agrees that Sierra is a threat at challenges.
Rodney swears to him that Will and he will go with Mike to the end. Mike, of course, knows he can’t trust any of them. They head to #TribalCouncil and then the jury comes in – Hali, Joe, Jenn, Shirin, Tyler and Dan come in. Mike smiles widely at Dan who makes a pissy face at him. He’s still pouting. Jeff asks Mike if he’s the swing vote and he says it’s a weird position to be in. Jeff asks if he can trust them tomorrow if he votes with them today. Mike says he loves them but can’t trust them.
Rodney says he swore his vote tonight on his sister’s life and that’s what he’s doing. Sierra says she made her case to everyone. She says she’s playing hard and helps around camp. Jeff says her being good at challenges is not a plus at this point. Sierra says it should be who deserves to be there and who is trying hard. Mike says they have all kept weaker players to take to the end and he had no part in that. Will says if Mike doesn’t win immunity tomorrow, he’ll be sorry.
Will running his mouth just violated what Rodney promised him. Sierra says she thinks her name will be written down. Rodney says they should just get to the vote because it will prove where he’s at in the game. We see that Rodney voted Sierra. Then Sierra voted for Rodney. The other votes are not seen. Jeff goes to count the votes. He comes back and reads – Sierra, Rodney, Sierra, Sierra. That’s sending her home. Dan is stunned and Carolyn acts heartbroken.
Jeff says to get some sleep because they’ll need it. Sierra says these people are all liars and she’ll take it as a compliment that they voted her out because she’s a strong player. Interesting is that we see that Carolyn also voted against Sierra! She was just playacting when the results were read. It was a complete take down of Sierra by the other four. Interesting. Wonder why Carolyn flipped?
We resume on day 38 with the last #ImmunityChallenge. Carolyn, Mike, Will and Rodney are there. They will have to untie knots to open a gate, race up a tower, slide down a water slide, go through an obstacle course to get puzzle pieces. They have to solve a giant lighthouse puzzle. It’s a huge obstacle and I can tell already Will can’t make that huge climb that many times. They start with the knot untying. Mike is done followed by Carolyn then Will. Mike is up and running up the giant stairs.
He has such long legs, it helps. Mike is at the top untying his key. Rodney now runs up the stairs. Mike heads down the water slide with his. Will heads back down next. Then Carolyn and Rodney are close behind. Mike is at the top and gets his first bag. He runs back up the big stairs again. The other three all have their bags and head back up the stairs as Mike heads down with his second key. Carolyn and Will are flagging on the stairs but Rodney is back down with his key.
Mike has his second bag and heads for the stairs as Carolyn comes down with her key. Mike is slower on the last set of stairs. Rodney gets his second bag. Will is lagging and so is Carolyn. Mike is down with his third key as Rodney and Carolyn head back up the stairs. Mike is on his last bag. Will finally gets his second bag. Carolyn finally makes it back to the top. She’s wheezing. Mike has all three of his bags. Will is walking slowly up the stairs.
Carolyn is back down and Rodney gets his third bag and he’s on the puzzle too. Will is wheezing hard going into the obstacle. Carolyn gets her third bag. It’s neck and neck for the puzzle. Will gets his third bag. Mike gets a second piece on his puzzle while Carolyn and Will land one. Rodney is slower. Carolyn gets her second piece and Mike his third and fourth. Mike gets number five then six. Carolyn gets closer as Mike lands another. Rodney is falling out of it.
Mike lands another and then Carolyn another. Mike has one piece left – he lands it and wins individual immunity for the fifth time. Jeff says that puts him in an elite club. Will is out of breath hard. They ask Jeff if they can give Mike the necklace and Will puts the immunity necklace on him. Ha! Will is eating his nasty words from the night before and it’s full on suck-up mode for the other three to get Mike to not vote for them. Mike is thrilled to be guaranteed a shot in the final three.
Back in LA, Jeff goes into a green room with the second chance nominees for Season 31. There are 32 former players. Jeff says some of them have been waiting 15 years for a chance to play again. The four head back to camp arm in arm. Rodney says if he could have done puzzles, there would have been a contest. Mike says he won’t allow this to go to his head because he has to focus on who to take to the end. He doesn’t want to make a million dollar mistake.
Mike goes down to the water and Carolyn follows soon after. Rodney tells Will that Mike wants to go with them to the end. Will says he doesn’t trust Mike but Rodney says Mike told him about Sierra. Will agrees, though, that Mike would be dumb to take Mama C to the end. Mike tells Carolyn that he won’t vote for her tonight. He says Dan and the other blue collars turned their backs on him. He says his gut is telling him to vote against her.
He says he wants the two of them to vote Rodney then says the guys will vote her. He says that will throw it to a fire challenge. He says she should find a way to practice fire making. He says that will show the jury she deserves to be there. She goes and finds the flint and stuff. Rodney tells Mike that he and Will are going to vote for Carolyn. Mike tells him he has a lot of thinking to do and says Carolyn wants him to vote with her against Rodney.
Rodney says he thinks Mike is just trying to get Carolyn’s jury vote. Mike says if Rodney loses tonight it will be poetic justice for him thinking he smooth talked himself into the end. Mike says he’d rather sit with Carolyn at the end and lose to her then take two goats to the end. Carolyn is working on fire and can’t get it. She cries to Mike about it and he tells her to relax and get her mind right. He tells her she’s still in this game. Carolyn is freaking out.
That night, they head to #TribalCouncil. The jury comes in – Hali, Joe, Jenn, Shirin, Tyler, Dan and Sierra. Jeff congratulates Mike for making it to the final Tribal for certain. Dan just glares – what a big, fat, pouty baby. OMG! He’s such a jerk. Will says the four love each other and did this together. Mike says it was a nice moment when they put the idol on him. Dan keeps making faces and rolling his eyes. He just can’t take it that Mike deserves to be there and his loser butt is on the jury. HA!
Carolyn says only three people that can go and she can’t vote for herself so she has to vote for Will or Rodney. Mike says Rodney has played a social game but hasn’t pulled his weight at all around camp and Carolyn is good friends with jury people. He says it comes down to outwit, outplay and outlast. Jeff calls for the vote. Carolyn votes Rodney. Rodney votes Carolyn. We don’t see Mike or Will’s votes. Jeff goes to count the votes then comes back. He reads – Rodney, Carolyn, Carolyn, Rodney.
It’s a tie. Shirin is so excited. The jury is all laughing. Jeff says it will go to the fire making challenge. He says by now, you should know how to make fire. Dan laughs out loud and buries his head in his hands. Jeff says they both have the same supplies and the first that gets a flame high enough to burn the rope and release the flag wins. It starts now. Jeff tells them this could be a million dollar fire. Six minutes go by. It’s 20 minutes in with no fire.
They both call for a new flint. Joe smiles and rolls his eyes. Rodney calls for another flint then Carolyn needs one too. Jenn yawns with boredom. After 45 minutes, still no fire. Dan’s mouth hangs wide open in shock. Shirin starts laughing out loud. Rodney finally gets a little flame. He blows on it gently. It goes out! At 53 minutes, still no flame then Rodney gets a tiny one going. He blows on it gently and finally gets it going. Carolyn also gets flame!
Carolyn is building a tepee and Rodney is adding more materials to his as well. Rodney has it looking good but Carolyn’s is growing too. There’s wind which makes it harder. Carolyn’s fire does better and her rope burns! Carolyn wins it! Rodney is the eight and final jury member. He grabs his stuff and calls Mike a stupid piece of shit!
Well that was consistent! Rodney has never won anything yet and always goes to the gutter with his mouth. Jeff says the game will finish with one white collar, one blue collar and one no collar. He says the power now shifts to the jury. Jeff sends them back to camp. Rodney says he wishes he could have done final three and calls Mike a scumbag redneck for making him do a fire challenge and says Mike will get what’s coming to him.
Live in LA, Jeff talks about how rare a fire challenge is and says Rodney was upset at first then about 10 minutes later, talked differently. We see Rodney talking later about how he came to the show as an escape while he was dealing with his sister’s death. He says he’s put an end to some of his demons. He says food and starvation give you perspective. Jeff says you can look online to see how it is for jury members once they’re voted out.
Next day, Will says it’s a great feeling to know it’s done. He bumps fists with Mike. The #Final3 share a hug. Will says he just needs to persuade people that he deserved the money. He says he was true to himself. The three go pick up their last day breakfast. Carolyn says she’s been dreaming of this for 15 years. They toast each other and Carolyn says this was a season of real players. They cook up some breakfast and are thrilled.
Carolyn is nervous about who will vote for her. She says she has to show the jury she played a good game. Mike says he started from the bottom and has felt completely alone. Mike says he loves being a blue collar and they finish what they start. He says it will be a close vote and a lot of people don’t like him because he has won so many challenges. It’s jury time and they head to the #FinalTribal. The jury comes in – Hali, Joe, Jenn, Shirin, Tyler, Dan, Sierra and Rodney.
Jeff congratulates the final three and says it’s tough mentally and physically plus you survive being voted out. Jeff says tonight each jury member gets to address them then will decide who deserves the title. Joe is up first. He congratulates them and says his vote is open but they have to earn it. He says no fronting. He tells Will to man up and give answers and own his game, he won’t vote for him. Joe says she outlasted and needs to show how she outplayed. Joe asks Mike what he did besides win challenges.
That’s it – just a statement, not any questions. Hali asks Carolyn how being thrown into the mother role has been a disadvantage. She says says people 25 years younger than her didn’t see her as a player. She says she played and fought hard in every challenge. That’s all for Hali. Rodney is next. Rodney asks Will how he kept it real to solidify his position. Will says he knew he would be the underdog since he didn’t have game knowledge. He says he’s very giving and shared his food.
He says he has a relationship with everyone on the jury except Shirin. He says you don’t get to the final three by luck. Rodney asks Carolyn what moves she made because he didn’t see any. Carolyn says the first was Tyler since she knew she couldn’t sit with him. She says she also voted against Dan and that told her that her alliance wasn’t as strong as she thought. She says Mike was her back up plan to get to the finals. Rodney is done – nothing for Mike.
Tyler is next and tells Mike he put them all on the jury one way or another. He says he saw him as paranoid and looking to destroy everything he touched. Mike says he wanted to do better socially than he did. He says back home he’s very social. He says he tried to make genuine bonds. He says maybehe wasn’t as genuine as he thought. Tyler tells Carolyn she broke his heart by going after him and asks how she can redeem herself. She says it pained her to write down his name.
She says she feels bad about it but says Survivor makes you do things to get to this point. Sierra asks Will which traits of the other two did he wish to possess. Will says Mike has a good work ethic but doesn’t like his approach. He says Carolyn took time to analyze things. Jenn is up next. She says she has no issues with any of them and then turns to the jury. She says they are so mad at Mike for playing better than him. She says Mike did what he had to do because they kicked him out.
Jenn says Mike was the only one who did all three – outwit, outlast, outplay. She says they need to get over it, prove they’re a fan and vote for Mike since he played better. Dan rolls his eyes at her the whole time. Dan tells Mike that Colby proved that you don’t just win challenges and says Mike didn’t care about the jury. Dan says he better care about them tonight and there’s no necklace to save his ass tonight. That’s it. Mike asks if he can say something to Dan.
Mike says his biggest regret was losing Dan’s trust after the auction. He says this goes beyond game play and he hopes they can be friends again but if not, he just wants to apologize. Dan asks to speak again. Dan says that was the most genuine thing that Mike has said to him since the auction. He says Mike has dodged since then and that finally was real. He says he’s grateful for that and hopes they can mend their fences. He tells the others congratulations.
Shirin is last. She says she was hoping Mike and Will would be at the final tribal. She says when Will came at her he sent her back to a deep place in her childhood and realize she didn’t have to be the victim. She says she stood up for herself against Will and says Mike protected her. She cries and says she never had a parent or friend to save her but Mike, like a real human being, saved her. She says that was a million dollar move for her.
She says she made her first million by 25 and that was even better. She says that Carolyn is still in it. She says it should be about the game. She says Mike is like a howler monkey – she says he’s loud and will throw poop at you if you come at him. She says he voted them all out except her. She says Carolyn is a stingray and she will sting you dead. She says Carolyn was on the winning side of every vote. She says Will is the dead fish they dragged in with their nets. She says the dead fish will poison you.
She says everyone wanted to take Will to the end because he was a dead fish with eyes glazed over. She says the game play is important – aggressive, stealthy and dead fish. She says the vote should be the way mother nature intended. Jeff says he’ll give them a minute then they have to vote.

Jeff congratulates the final three and says it’s tough mentally and physically plus you survive being voted out. Jeff calls for the vote and says they have to vote for a winner. He says to vote for who deserves the million dollars. Hali goes to vote first. Then it’s Joe. We see that Jenn voted for Mike. Rodney, of course, votes Will because they are fellow lazy idiots… Shirin sniffs the marker then votes. Sierra votes for Carolyn. Dan seems to not know who to vote for and bangs his head (he just wants more camera time). Jeff goes to get the votes.
He says he’ll see them back in LA for the reading of the votes. Now it’s back at the live show as Jeff walks in with the votes. The jury and the three finalists all site by the fire. Jeff says there is no easy path to the end and says they earned their spot there. Jeff reads the votes – Mike, Will, Carolyn, Mike, Mike, Mike. Yes! Mike won it! Woot woot. Mike runs down to hug his mom and almost tackles her. Mike hugs his buddies as Jeff interrupts him to hand over the check.
Mike sweetly hands his million dollar check to his mom. Jeff announces that Mike is ineligible for Season 31 based on this win. That means that another of the potential players will move up. Back from the break, Jeff asks Mike how being back against the wall helped him. Mike says the reason he can play loosely is because of Jesus. Jeff says he had nothing to lose then asks again and says he made moves that he would not have otherwise move.
THE END!
