On #TalkingDead, Chris Hardwick welcomes Melissa McBride (Carol), Lennie James (Morgan) and Norman Reedus (Daryl). Chris says Morgan has been a satellite revolving around the group. He asks Lennie why Morgan is such a fan favorite. He says he has no idea then when he starts talking, Chris jokes and acts shocked saying – you’re British. He says he doesn’t know why he clicked with fans and doesn’t want to know. He says it’s organic and it happens differently. He says many people talk about the scene where he didn’t shoot his wife.

Chris says Morgan was short a few marbles in “Clear” then seems sane now. Chris asks why he’s tracking down Rick. Lennie says Morgan was utterly cray cray and had lost everything that identified him – being a husband and father. He says he was bereft and then Rick showed up and is the only person he knows in the world and that knows him at all. Norman says the group has to be glad he showed up when he did. He says when Morgan handed Daryl the map, he would assume that Rick had told Daryl about Morgan and he knew who it was.

He says as a fan of Lennie, he loved Morgan from the first episode. Norman said Rick told Daryl they would take it if they have to and may assume that’s what was happening. Chris says he adores Carol and says he’s been very Team Carol and wants her leading since she’s so focused. Melissa says it has been really satisfying and it was all fun. She says she was little worried about Carol when she saw the scripts and says Carol is good-bad. Chris says Carol is calm but gets stuff done. She says Carol was well equipped for this world because she knew how to survive Ed’s abuse.

She says this world creates circumstances where she can use those skills. Chris asks about keeping Lennie secret from the show and even tonight on Talking Dead before it started. He says he had to use a different name when he traveled and wasn’t allowed to stay near any of the areas where any actors stayed. He says he was stuck in a bed and breakfast out of the way. The other guest told him he was the reason she had to sign a confidentiality agreement. He said the hotel owners had to sign them too. Chris says Scott Gimple sent a message since he couldn’t be there.

It’s time for the In Memoriam:
OMG, It’s Morgan Walker
Bobby Trap Walkers
Whip It Walkers
There’s Something Stuck In Your Door Walker
Don’t Give Me That Face Walker
Heeeey Rick Walker
Freshly Squeezed Walker
Red Poncho Guy
Reg
Pete (aka the Porch Dick)

It closes with Hide your kids (from Carol), hide your wife (from Rick) and everyone hide from the Wolves.

We see Greg Nicotero talking about Morgan and how interesting it is to bring him back. They’re shooting the Morgan rescues Daryl and Aaron scene. Lennie says he has to go in and crack 100 zombie heads. They say with that stick you have to have a lot of stunt people. Lennie says it’s good to be back and he’d be lying to say otherwise.

Chris says #MorganIsBritish is trending. They ask about training with the stick and he says three sessions a week for a month and says he trained with one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guy. He says he could probably take out everyone in the room. Chris asks why Morgan is so zen now when he was so unhinged. He says Morgan had an insightful incident but he can’t talk about it. He says he’s had a kind of change in who he is and how he’s reacting to the world.

Chris asks if Daryl was prepared to die for Aaron. Norman says he doesn’t think Daryl thought he would die. Chris asks how long they were in the car shooting it. He says a long time and says it was really cold and says the car was small so he got the emergency brake in his butt. Chris says he didn’t know you could throw a rave in the trailer and get zombies to come. Chris asks Melissa about Carol standing up to Pete and if it’s about Ed.

Carol says it definitely is and says she had to and she can so she did. He asks why Carol didn’t kill him and she says they needed him right then but wanted to hand Pete his balls on a platter. Chris says Cory Brill is so nice in real life. He says Cory even wrote a ballad about being called porch dick. Melissa says Cory is the nicest guy and says he’s so tall and that made the scene more intense when Carol scared him in that scene.

Now it’s time for the quiz – check for answers at the bottom of this post!

Melissa tells the camera: hi mom and dad. Then Norman says it’s Scott Wilson’s birthday too. They now have some video questions. First is a couple that has a hedgehog named Norman and they ask Melissa if Carol is scared to get close to kids because of the kids she’s lost. Melissa says yes but she’s tried so hard to protect kids from the danger of this world and it always ends badly. She says the door is closed because it’s too painful but they’ll see.

The next video is a woman singing to Daryl. She asks if there’s any weird relationship between Rick and Michonne who is his deputy now and has replaced Daryl. Norman says Michonne is Daryl’s girl too but he’s beyond the wall doing other things. He says he didn’t want that job.

A live Skype caller phones in and asks Melissa about identifying with Jessie and asks if she’s seen anything to show if Jessie could evolve into a survivor like Carol has. Carol says Jessie already has and put the bolt onto the closet to protect her child then stood up to Pete and told him to leave the house. Chris asks the guy if he’s wearing a Daryl vest and he says he is then shows his ear necklace.

The next Skype message asks why Daryl can accept Aaron and Eric into his bubble so fast. Chris says the caller looked like she was undressed in bed. Chris asks Norman about Daryl who could have been closed minded but is one of the warmest and sweetest characters. Norman says Daryl can judge people and says Aaron and Daryl both see themselves as outsiders and even though Daryl doesn’t act like he buys that, he really does.

Another live Skype caller phones in for Lennie and asks why Morgan honked the horn when he put those guys into the car. He says he decided to give them a chance and honked the horn to see if there were walkers around. Chris says he thought Morgan was trying to draw in walkers but Lennie says he wasn’t and was making sure it was safe to leave them there. Lennie says in this incarnation of Morgan there is an origin story where they can find out about it.

Another Skype messages comes with a question for Norman. He asks is it okay to bum a smoke in the zombie apocalypse? Chris says it’s been a long time since they saw that guy and they all laugh.

Inside info from tonight’s season finale episode:

Greg Nicotero directed it and it’s his fourth of the seasons. He’s directed 11 episodes making him one of the most prolific directors on TWD.

“Love and Mercy” by Brian Wilson is the song used to lire the walkers into the trailer. Other episodes this year included the Bee Gees and Nine Inch Nails.

Andrew Lincoln says he loves Rick’s how many of you do I have to kill speech. He compared it to the Rick’s “this is not a democracy” speech from season two.

Eulyn Womble, the costumer, talks about Carol and her different phases. Back in season one, she had her head shaved and was abused and now she’s the survivor. She hid under a walker smeared poncho to save her people and the costumer says that’s what her Suzy Homemaker outfit it like – it makes her blend in. Womble says you wouldn’t think Carol in her flowered sweater could shoot you in the head, but she can. Melissa says she and Eulyn worked hard on the costume. She says she she put on the sweater, she could feel Carol grinning inside her to see those clothes outside and to know what she’s really got on the inside.

Chris asks Norman about finding out Daryl was the reason he invited them to Alexandria. He says it was a nice honest thing for Aaron to say. He says Aaron bringing them in is like bringing wild animals into a petting zoo. Chris says the red poncho guy should have just had a federation logo on him.

Poll question: What’s the favorite Daryl and Carol moment? Cherokee Rose, Kiss on forehead, Terminus reunion. Lennie says liked the Terminus reunion. Chris says Yvette Nicole Brown is there in the audience and is always trying to hook Daryl and Carol up. Norman pets her ear and Melissa says come on. Most people (79%) picked the Terminus reunion.

Chris asks Lennie if he gets recognized more in the US or UK and he says the UK but it’s strange since he hasn’t really been on the show. Chris says Talking Dead is airing in England tonight and wants to do a show there since he loves England and wants to be there as much as he can.

Andrew Lincoln talks about Lennie James and says he really likes Lennie and the character Morgan. He says it’s strange seeing him in these intervals and can’t wait to see what happens with them in season six. Chris asks if Lennie can says that he’s part of the season six cast and he says he can confirm he’s on at least one episode. Chris asks Norman about the Ws and he says Daryl knows the worst type of people do terrible things to survive. He says it’s like Vlad the Impaler.

Chris says Glenn should have shot Nicholas in the head. He asks Melissa about Sasha in the episode. She says she loves the scene that was strangely peaceful lying on the stack of walkers. Chris says he saw it as her saying she was already one of them. Melissa says taking it out with Gabriel at the end. Chris says Gabriel has been a pain in his fan ass but seeing him have a human moment where he hates himself and wants to die.

He asks Norman if Daryl would have killed Nicholas and he says he would in a heartbeat. Chris says there three similar storylines – Rick, Sasha and Glenn – where they each could have killed someone. He says Daryl would have killed Nicholas and would hope one day that he could be more Glenn-esque. Chris says he has a special audience prize and calls it the Oprah moment. He says everyone gets a Daryl vest. He puts his on and Chris says he knows he doesn’t look that good in a vest.

Chris mentions Fear the Walking Dead and the new series coming this season. Then there’s another poll question: What do you want to see in the next year’s storylines? Super mutant walker, all musical episode or robot sidekick. Norman says musical, Melissa says robot and Lennie says musical and asks if he remembers it with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 78% choose super mutant walker. Scott Gimple couldn’t be on the show but sent a message about season six:

Chris reads it. He says the people were the big threat in season five but that will change in season six, he says they were changing things up again and says it will be bigger, louder and scarier next season. Norman talks about making a post-apocalyptic movie with Scott Gimple. Chris then brings out a woman from the audience who’s dressed as Scarol. He says they should hug and Melissa tells her to sit with her. Chris says she looks amazing. The girl waves to her cosplay group.
