Tonight’s episode begins now – Refresh Page for Updates

#TalkingDead starts now. Chris Hardwick welcomes Kevin Smith, Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie) and Ross Maquand (Aaron). Chris says the internet almost broke when Rick kissed Jessie on the cheek. She says Andrew Lincoln was nervous shooting the scene because Rick hadn’t had any female interaction in so long. She says Jessie does have some interest in Rick. Kevin says watching that took him back to high school when he tried to plant a kiss and a girl turns her head.

Kevin says as a bi-curious bear, he wants to kiss beardless Rick. Chris asks Ross about the reaction to Eric and Aaron’s kiss. Chris says it made him love and trust Aaron. He says it humanized him too. Ross says they fans have been very supportive. Kevin says he loved this episode because they saw the group in the walls and it reminded him of a Twilight episode. He says Rick may be the monster and says maybe he’ll become unhinged.

Chris says then Rick saw her with her husband then reached for the gun. Alexandra says what was he thinking. Chris says it was like watching the governor descend into darkness. Chris says it was creepy. Alexandra says Jessie’s family has been in Alexandria since a couple of months after it all hit. She says they got there quickly and she didn’t have to do a lot of killing. Chris says her husband Pete seemed friendly now but was a porch dick in the last episode.

Alexandra says they’ll see. Kevin says when Rick reached for that gun looking at them it felt like a caveman move – I’ll take your woman. He says they got to the point where they slaughtered people in a church. Kevin says it read like – get off my Kool-Aid. Ross says he didn’t know a lot about Aaron’s back story. He says when Jordan got to set (the guy who plays Eric) he says they worked up their own history. He says he thinks Aaron was a politico in DC when he met and fell in love with Eric so they were nearby when it all happened.

Ross does celebrity impressions and Chris asks if that helped him get the job. He says surprisingly it does. He says they asked him to come back and asked him to do some improv and smart ass take on the character. Chris asks how would Matthew McConaughey calm down Sasha. He does an amazing Matt impression and talks her down.

Now it’s the In Memoriam:
What’s That on Your Forehead Walker
Teamwork Walkers
Take My Hand Walker
Ram Ya Face Walker
Mind Blown Walker
Buttons (the horse)

Here lies Buttons the horse, he will be missed. Of course, of course. (A nod to Mr Ed, the old talking horse TV show if you didn’t get that reference).

They then show an interview with Norma Reedus talking about the horse thing. He says Aaron liked the horse because it was freedom and nature and it was their mini-mission to save the horse. He says to Daryl, it was like domesticating an animal like that sucks out part of their life force and says it may foreshadow what’s happening to them in Alexandria. Chris says he could tame Daryl like a wild horse. #RIPButtons. Chris says you see all this death then you see the horse die and you’re inconsolable.

Chris thanks America for trending #PorchDick. Ross says Buttons the horse was a nod to readers of the comics. The first poll of the night is: Why do you think Daryl agreed to join Aaron? Was it the motorcycle, the spaghetti or the bromance? Kevin says the good versus bad person conversation was cool but also Daryl isn’t a burden on your shampoo or body wash supply. Ross says it’s the bromance. But 77% of the pollsters say it’s the motorcycle.

Alexandra says Jessie feels compassion for the new group and can only imagine what they’ve been going through and that the rest of Alexandria is scared of them and worries they’re unhinged. She says Jessie sees potential for them to integrate into their society. Chris says it’s like bringing a pack of wild dogs into your home. Alexandra says she was just being nice to Rick when she offered the haircut and she wasn’t thinking romance when she came to his door.

Kevin wants Daryl and Aaron to get together because their names come together nicely. Kevin says you could do a nice montage of them to Born This Way. Chris someone will now do this. Chris then asks about Rick stroking the wall at the end. Kevin says he didn’t know if it was about him being safe or if he was like an animal scratching at a door to get outside and be wild. Ross says Rick will challenge Deanna’s power. He says he’ll find ways to assert his dominance. Chris says the woman who plays Deanna is a legendary actor and Ross says she’s incredible.

It’s time for the quiz (answers are at the end of this post)…

#1 What is Deanna’s husband’s name? Red, Reg or Red

#2 What did Aaron tell Daryl he was hunting? Rabbits, walkers or squirrels

#3 What does Carol use in her cookies instead of eggs? Applesauce, yogurt or butter

They next take an audience question. She asks Ross if Aaron was hunting rabbits or following Daryl. He says he was following Daryl to try and talk to him. Kevin says that should be the new term for checking out a dude – “hunting rabbits.” Chris stamps her hand with an A and offers her a cookie if she won’t tell anyone what she saw tonight. Kevin asks if Aaron is trying to separate Daryl from the group. Kevin says Aaron has the concern of the group at Alexandria at heart.

Ross says the killing spree was great because he got into zombie killing beast mode. He says he was a fan from the show since the beginning so this was great. Chris asks Alexandra about her audition. She says she didn’t know what she was auditioning for and says she read for Samantha but to read the part on the page called Emily. She says it was in a coffee shop and was about cancer and the woman had a child. She says they were looking for a strong woman with some vulnerability.

Alexandra says that it was like – surprise, come to Atlanta. She says she had just gotten engaged and then heard she was the top choice for a part she read for. She says she went to Atlanta still thinking it was something else and then found it was Jessie from the comic books. Chris asks if Rick’s group is now becoming anti-heroes. Kevin says they’re like soldiers who have been in battle too long and then struggle to reintegrate back into society.

Kevin says it’s weird for them to be at a cocktail party. He says they are the walking dead inside the walls of Alexandria. Then Chris wants to talk about #Scarol. Kevin says you never want to leave your kids with Carol period. Chris says when she was talking to the kid, he felt like the little kid and was terrified. Kevin says he was half expecting her to make him look at the flowers.

In a behind the scenes look, we see that the people in the photos that Sasha shot up were occupants of the house pre-apocalypse. In reality, they’re crew from the show. One of the walkers with the horse was actually the horse’s trainer dressed as a walker. He also trained Rick’s horse back in season on that was eaten by zombies. Lauren Cohan says the group felt awkward at the cocktail party “like stray dogs that were brought in and have to be taught not to pee on the floor.”

Now we get more info on the cocktail party. Denise Huth says it’s so normal and so it’s so weird for the group. The prop crew says it’s different for them since it’s not bloody. He says they made finger foods from things they would actually have on hand in that time. They made fake beer and Scotch. Chris asks Alexandra what it was like shooting it. She says it was awkward for the others who had been on the cast for years. She says it was normal for her.

Chris asks if you’d want to have cocktail parties in those conditions. She says it’s strange but she might want them all to stop crying and get together. He asks Kevin what his job would be in Alexandria. Kevin says podcasting probably wouldn’t work. He says he’d be the guy hand mowing the lawn. He says he would also have a grow house on the side and dealing weed. Chris takes a call and the woman asks about Mrs Nedermeyer’s past maker and asks what trivial thing they would want.

Ross says a Rubik’s cube. Alexandra says she’d want a sewing machine but someone would find it. Chris says a machine gun with endless ammo. Kevin says a flesh light would be helpful. Kevin says in a zombie apocalypse, he’d totally be trying to get laid all the time. Chris says there may be a zombie glory hole and Kevin says he’d be “hunting rabbits.”

Danai Gurira (Michonne) talks about hanging up her katana and says it was an important part of her being in that zombie world. She says she was challenged by Abraham to show that she chose this place. She says she needs to step away from her crutch which is her katana. She says it’s her accepting a new place. She says she didn’t throw it out or give it away and that’s important. Chris asks Kevin about this. He says he’s more worried she’s dressing like Paul Blart, Mall Cop.

Kevin says it’s within reach and is a symbol and tells a story like if you hung a photo of memories on a wall. Kevin says she’s buying into Alexandria. Chris says it’s like Luke putting his light saber in the closet.

The next poll question is: Is Carol officially the scariest survivor now? Hell yes or not really. Alexandra says as Jessie she wanted to punch her in the face but as a viewer, she got it. 88% says hell yes, Carol is the scariest. He asks Ross how Liam Neeson would address this. He does it charmingly. Then Chris talks about the more mommish Carol’s sweaters get, the scarier she gets. Kevin says he loves her whole thing about being invisible. He says she’s the ultimate spy of the group.

He says she can offer kids death or cookies. Alexandra says she wonders if Deanna knows about Carol since she’s so perceptive. Chris reads a question for Ross and if they know they’re all infected already. He says Aaron and Eric likely know it’s a possibility since they’ve been out in the world but says the others in Alexandria likely have no idea. The next poll question is: What should Carol’s cookie company slogan be: Baked with anger, Apocalycious!, or Look at the Flour. Look at the flour wins.
Next up is a peek at next week’s Walking Dead episode. We see Pete telling Rick that they’ve lost things and others they’re fighting like hell to hold on to. He says they might not see that after what they’ve been through. Rick says they do. Pete says to bring his kids in for a check up. Pete drinks beer and tells Rick – let’s be friends. Then he says they kind of have to be. They shake hands and Pete says he’ll see him. He walks out. Rick closes the door behind him and just stares.

Kevin says the look in Rick’s eyes is like Nicholson in The Shining. Chris says Pete doesn’t stand a chance against Rick. He asks Alexandra why Jessie is with Pete. She says they met in art school then she got pregnant so he went to medical school to support them. She says there road has been bumpy since then and that things aren’t good now. Chris says he loves when someone tries to get in a pissing contest with Rick. He says it makes him so happy as a fan.

There’s a Facebook question for Ross asking if he really hates applesauce. He says he loves it. Chris says there’s a lot of applesauce references in the show. Kevin is asked where Morgan is right now. He says he doesn’t know. Alexandra says maybe he’ll come back. Kevin asks if the W on the walker heads is for Wolves. Chris says he thinks so but they shouldn’t say more. They wonder if Enid, the young girl, is a mole for a group outside the wall.

Answers:
#1 Reg – The actor Steve Coulter, also appeared in The Hunger Games.

#2 Rabbits – The sport of hunting rabbits is called rabbiting unless you do it with a dog in which case it’s called beagling.

#3 Applesauce – Use ¼ cup of applesauce for every egg you replace.

The End
