Tonight on MTV their series Teen Mom OG continues with an all new Monday April 13, season 5 episode 4 called “New Kids on the Block” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Cate learns that Brandon and Teresa want to discuss adoption issues.
On the last episode, Tyler posted a video of Carly on their fan page, but it didn’t go over well with Brandon and Teresa; Maci and Ryan had communication issues; and Amber was upset when Gary won’t let Leah spend the night. On #TeamMomOG, Maci says Bentley is with Ryan while she plans a part for him. Taylor, her boyfriend, tells the producer that he and Maci are having a baby. They congratulate then and then Maci and Taylor tell them they’ve known a week but are keeping it quiet. They go tell their friends Keelie and Robbie that they’re preggers. Maci says her doctor said she likely couldn’t get pregnant again so they weren’t using birth control.
Keelie asks when they’re going to get married and Taylor says he doesn’t want it to look like they’re getting married because of the baby. Maci says she would like a ring on her finger so her grandparents don’t think she’s a dirty slut. Maci says they’re going to tell Bentley at his birthday party. Catelynn and Tyler are at the doctor and he says she’s gaining too much weight. The doctor comes in to check on her and then projects the baby’s heartbeat. She says it’s very healthy sounding.
The doctor brings up her weight and says she’s up 20 pounds. She tells her to watch her calories and says she should only be eating an extra 100 to 300 calories a day. Amber is driving with Krystal and her mom to see her brother graduate. Amber says she had to get a travel permit from her parole officer to attend Shawn’s graduation. Over at Gary’s, Kristina takes a pregnancy test then goes to tell him she took three tests and they’re all positive.
He asks if he’s the dad and laughs. She says she’s shocked since they neither wanted a baby. He says they have options and he says they can consider adoption. Kristina says she can’t carry a child for nine months then give it up. She says the doctor switched her brand of pills and maybe that’s what happened. He says he dreads telling Amber. Tyler tries to talk to Catelynn about her weight gain and says he’ll do some research about it.
He tells her she can’t ignore it and says he just wants her to have healthy weight gain. She says she just wants to enjoy her pregnancy and gets defensive. He’s Googling the topic and says she’s supposed to consult a nutritionist or a trainer. He says he just wants her to be healthy but she thinks he’s harping on her weight. He reminds her she was self-conscious about her weight during the last pregnancy. She admits she doesn’t want to be fat walking down the aisle after the baby comes.
Gary sits with Leah and talks to her about the new baby. He tells her this baby is an accident just like she was. Amber chats with her brother Shawn and he says he wants her to go to school. She says she’s afraid of feeling overwhelmed. Then he asks her about getting custody. He asks if Amber has to pay child support. He says he thinks Gary will try to take her to court and ask for back child support. She says she pays for half her school and expenses.
Shawn says Gary will make him look like a deadbeat mom. She says the show has ruined Gary. Amber says she gets so upset she just thinks how much easier it would be to deal with this if she was high but says she thinks about Leah to keep straight. Maci meets Ashley before she goes to pick up Bentley. They talk about her graduation next year and Maci says she wants to get a job in social media. She then goes to meet Ryan to pick up Bentley.
She asks Ryan if he’s interested in doing Bentley’s birthday together and he’s non-committal and says he’ll talk to Shelby. She tells him when and where it is and he says it’s a hassle trying not to argue. Amber gets ready for a visit from Leah. Kristina asks if Gary is excited about the baby and he doesn’t seem to be too much. Kristina says she’s getting more excited. She talks about their lack of commitment and not being married.
Gary says just because they’re having a kid doesn’t mean they’re meant to be together and he wants to know for sure they can be partners for life before he commits. She asks if he’s going to tell Amber and he says he will. Catelynn and Tyler go to look at wedding venues. They choose a date in August and book it. Catelynn talks to Alexa about having to lose weight after the baby for the wedding. She tells her she’s already gained 20 pounds. She says she failed the glucose test. She asks her about Brandon and Teresa.
They’re upset about the video that Tyler posted and may not let them visit with Carly. Catelynn is stressing about it. Gary loads Leah up to go see Amber. They head to Amber’s and he says he needs to talk to Amber alone. He says he needs to tell her something before she hears it from Leah. He tells her Kristina is pregnant and her jaw drops and she tells him to have fun with that. She asks if he’s getting married and he says no, if ever.
Amber says he shouldn’t say that on TV because it would hurt Kristina’s feelings. She says that closes the door between them forever and Gary says she took the news well. Amber asks Leah if she pooped her pants. He makes Leah cry when he says maybe she needs a diaper. Leah says he’s mean but Amber says he was just joking too much. Catelynn and Tyler get a call from Teresa and she asks to have a meeting with her and Brandon and John without the kids.
Catelynn asks about them seeing Carly and she says they can probably do that after the meeting. Tyler says this conversation is overdue and Catelynn says Tyler needs to remember not to get heated. At Bentley’s party, Jen is there and she says she hopes Ryan shows up but she hasn’t heard from him. Larry, his dad, also says he hasn’t seen his son. Ryan and Shelby show up 45 minutes late. Jen tells Maci that Ryan and Shelby have been fighting a lot and he says he’s moving out.
We see Shelby arguing with Ryan over a pool game. Maci tells Tayler it’s weird for the four of them to be there and she decides not to tell Ryan about the baby at the party. After the party, they head home and Bentley finds other presents and she reads him a card saying the gifts are from the new baby. He doesn’t believe that she has a baby in her tummy. Maci says God gave them a baby but he keeps saying no. She shows him the ultrasound of the little dot.
She asks if he’s excited and says he’s been asking for a little brother or sister. Bentley dances with his booty out rubbing it and she asks why he’s dancing like that and where he learned it. She gives him a wedgie and spanks his bottom jokingly. Krystal comes to have lunch with Amber and she tells him that Gary and Kristina are pregnant. She asks how she took it and Amber says she tried to handle it well and says the good thing is she knows she will never be with him again in this life.
Amber says even though she knew she would never be happy with Gary, she always thought about it. She says her purpose for her family is gone and a piece of her life has died. She says his ignorant ass doesn’t even understand it. Catelynn comes to her moms to make candy for the shower. She tells them they’ll be gone over Halloween to meet with Teresa and Brandon and see Carly. Her family wants to know if Catelynn will talk to them about the rest of the family seeing Carly.
Catelynn says she’s worried about Tyler coming off like an ass. Tyler has dinner with his mom and talks about Catelynn’s weight gain and the meeting coming up with Brandon and Teresa. He rattles off what he wants to say and his mom says he doesn’t need to talk with that attitude. She advises him to walk away if he thinks he’s going to say something he shouldn’t. His mom asks if they might cut them off from Carly if it doesn’t go well.
Maci talks to Bentley some more about the baby and he says he’s excited but not good that Taylor is the daddy of the baby. She asks if he’s worried because he and the baby will have different daddies and she reassures him. Amber lies around moping when Heather the producer comes to check on her. She asks if the crew can come in and Heather steps inside alone. Amber says she’s at a low point and says she doesn’t know if she can get over him having a kid with someone else.
Heather comforts Amber while she cries. Amber says she felt like freaking out on him. Amber says she can’t have a relationship with a guy because of Gary and says he’s made it so she can’t trust that a guy won’t cheat on her or use her for her money. She wraps her head in a blanket and cries.
