Tonight on MTV their series Teen Mom OG continues with an all new Monday May 4, season 5 episode 7 called “First Time for Everything” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Maci returns to the series, but has conditions regarding Bentley.
On the last episode, Cate had gestational diabetes; Farrah struggled with her mom’s visit; Amber revealed her relationship with her boyfriend; and Maci decided to leave the show after learning that Farrah was back. On tonight’s episode as per the MTV synopsis, “Maci returns to the series, but has conditions regarding Bentley; Catelynn and Tyler struggle with being first time parents; and Farrah introduces Simon to her mother.”

#TeenMomOG begins at Amber’s house. Leah is eating and Matt sits down with her. He asks if she likes having him there and he says he likes being there. She asks where he came from and he says Boston. He says he’s way away and asks where he lives now. She says he should marry her mommy and he asks if she’s sure and says he wanted to ask her permission. Leah finishes her food and she tells Matt to high five her. He says they need to bring mommy her breakfast.
He says Leah made her breakfast and Amber takes a bite. Leah says she put more egg in and makes it gooder. Amber tries it and says it’s really good. Matt and Amber are making dinner for her family and Gary came to take Leo back to his house. Sharon and Paul, her grandparents are there and ask Matt how serious this is. Matt says it’s really serious. Her mom says she talked to Bubby and they just want her to be happy.
At Farrah’s, she takes Sophia to school and talks about taking Simon with her to Las Vegas for a party. She says grandpa will pick her up from the bus stop. Farrah says to give her a kiss as she drops her off. Later, she flies to Vegas for an appearance at GB DC. She says she got a call to be on a show about family counseling with her mom. She calls Debra and says it’s about therapy and says they would do it together in LA. Debra says it’s cool. She says it’s a mom-daughter therapy show.
Debra says she’d like to do the show and asks her about the party. She asks Debra to meet her in LA in a couple of days. At Ryan’s parent’s house, Kiki the producer asks Larry and Deb where Ryan went and they tell her he went down the road. Maci shows up and they drop the cameras. Maci says it’s okay to be filmed and says she changed her mind. Kiki hugs her and Taylor and says she’s thrilled. They mic them up as they go inside.
Maci says she thought a lot about it and says she’s back and says no Bentley. She says she’s not against Farrah or what she’s doing but doesn’t want a six year old on a TV show that talks about her lifestyle. She says Farrah wasn’t supposed to be on the show. She tells Ryan and he says okay about Bentley. Ryan asks if he did porn, could he still be on the show. His dad asks if he’s going to do Playgirl and he jokes that he’d cover it up with a hat. Then they start talking about gay porn. Maci laughs and says he could make a lot of money. Deb says it could be “Maci’s Baby Daddies.” Taylor blushes.
Tyler and Cate change the first poopie diaper at home and give little Nova a bath. She’s so cute. The camera crew shows up and Cate tells Evan the sound guy he won the pool on the birth date – January 1st. Cate says she wishes Nova would sleep like that at night and they are just loving her. Tyler says she’s worth all the crap that they went through. They discuss that they probably would have broken up if they had kept Carly because they wouldn’t have taken the steps to work on them.
They talk about having Carly for three days then having to give her up. Cate starts crying and he comforts her. She says she’s so thankful they get to keep Nova and Tyler says she’s the strongest woman he knows. Cate says when she cries in the middle of the night it doesn’t matter because she’s lucky. Tyler says he knows they did the right thing with Carly because otherwise they wouldn’t have Nova.
Back at Amber’s, Matt and Amber smooch on the couch and she says Krystal is on the way over. They cuddle with his dogs then Krystal is there with her kids. She looks around at all of Matt’s artwork up on the walls. Krystal pulls a face and Amber asks what that means. Amber says she’s never that quiet and Krystal says she’s concerned they’re moving too fast and says it’s weird to her. She says the age difference is a concern. She says then it’s puppies.
Amber says the only issue for her was his age and it worked out. Krystal asks Matt how he feels about raising Leah. He says he’s not there to raise her as a dad but will do anything she needs and will always help out. Krystal wants them to slow down and Amber says when you love someone you love them and kisses Matt’s hand.
In Vegas, Simon calls Farrah and she puts Larry the producer on the phone. Simon says he’ll be there at 10. She tells him she loves him. She goes to sit with Heather the producer and she asks if Simon is coming to LA with her and Farrah says he’s going to meet her f-ing crazy mom. She says Simon is very go with the flow. She says he’s going to visit Austin soon.
She says she has anxiety about the idea of someone playing dad to her daughter. But then she says Sophia was asking her about BFs and says Sophia is very receptive to the idea of her dating. Farrah then starts crying about Derek. She says she doesn’t miss him but just wants to move on. Heather says it takes time. Farrah says she wants a great man in her life and doesn’t want to f-k it up.
At Maci’s, Maci says she hates eating on camera because she thinks they can hear her eating. Keelie, her friend, is there and asks about when Maci wants to get married. She says four months ago then says she and Taylor don’t talk about marriage and wanted to do it and didn’t plan on getting pregnant. She says he knows she would prefer to be engaged or married before a baby and says there’s no point in waiting. Keelie says they should just do it now.
Cate is tired and says she’s struggling with breast feeding and Tyler is trying to help. Her grandma Deborah is there and she says the first couple of days she was diapering terribly. She asks how Cate is doing with nursing and she says she’s still struggling. They talk about how hard it would be with Carly and Cate says Carly has an awesome life then says it’s strange how much Nova looks like Carly. She says Nova and Carly may grow up close.
Cate says this has to be hard on Brandon and Teresa that Carly has a full blooded sister now that’s not with her. She says they don’t want Nova to feel like the replacement child and want her to feel like her own person. In Vegas, Simon shows up and is happy to see her. She says she’s happy that she’s there and says she has one hosting event left. She asks if he’s enjoyed the parties she hosted.
He says it’s fun and she says she knows he doesn’t look at her negatively like the public does. Simon says he’s comfortable with what she does and says he likes having a girl who gets attention. She says she loves him. She asks if she’s the best GF ever and he says she is. She says he’s the best BF ever. Next day, she is getting her beauty stuff done for the party while Simon works. She tells her makeup artist she hopes he’s the one.
Simon goes to the party with her and seems very supportive. They kiss for the cameras. Later, she tells him about the LA trip and says he’ll meet her mom for a second. She says she’s doing a mom and daughter counseling show since they can’t get past some of their differences. She asks if he wants to meet her or not and he says whatever she wants him to do. He says he’s fine with meeting her if she is too and she says she’s fine with everything and winks (what does that mean?).
Matt and Amber are out to eat at their usual place and he tells her he loves her and says they have done a lot of messed up shit in their lives and says he’d like to do something right and asks her to marry her and pops open a ring box. Amber says yes. She says she loves him and he slides the ring on her finger. He says he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. (Does this guy have a job? Did MTV buy the ring?)
She tells him she’s been engaged before and it didn’t work out. For those who weren’t watching 16 and Pregnant when Amber and Gary were on it – Gary went to WalMart with Amber to buy a $24 engagement ring. Then Gary asked the cashier what the return policy was!! OMG! Do you think he took the ring back after she beat him up? If I recall, he lost the receipt or something. Can’t recall… Anyway, this ring looks MUCH nicer!
At Cate’s, Tyler sends Brandon and Teresa a photo of Carly and Nova side by side. Cate comes in with a box from Brandon and Teresa while he’s rocking Nova. It’s a box of Carly’s baby things and a letter from Carly’s adoptive family. That’s really nice. Cate says it’s like having a piece of Carly with Nova. He says they have photos of Carly in some of that and he wants to get photos of Nova in the same outfits. He says Teresa hasn’t replied to any of his texts and Cate says maybe the photo shocked them.
Maci and Taylor find out they’re having a girl – she’s five months gone and they go for an ultrasound. Maci says she’s way cuter than all the other babies. Later, Taylor heads to meet his friends and they ask about the baby. They ask if he’s going to lock Maci down and he says he will likely propose since he knows Maci is worried about being pregnant and unmarried again. He jokes he needs to get a ring before the end of season one. His friends laugh.
Amber calls Leah and tells her she’s getting married and asks if she likes Matt. Leah says she does. Gary congratulated her. Later, he asks Leah why Matt didn’t ask his permission to marry Amber and Leah says no and he laughs. Tonya, Amber’s mom, comes to see Amber and says she and Matt look cute together. Amber jokes and tells her she’s pregnant then says she’s kidding and shows her the ring. She says this is a real ring and her mom says it’s not from WalMart.
Amber says they’re going to Vegas at the end of the month for her off parole party. She takes a snap of the ring and sends it to Bubby. Turns out Matt is just four years younger than Amber’s mom and Amber says she didn’t need to hear that. Tonya says as long as Matt treats her right, it’s fine. Simon and Farrah charter a helicopter to LA. She then video chats with Sophia and Michael her dad. Later, Simon asks what to call her mom and she says Debra.
Debra shows up and Farrah introduces them. They have a glass of wine and some food and she asks about Simon’s business. He says he has a furniture company and flips houses. Debra asks Farrah if she’s looking forward to the show. Simon asks what they talk about in their sessions and Debra says more effective communication – no screaming, hollering, crying. She tells Simon they communicate out loud and says keeping secrets doesn’t work.
Debra says those sessions aren’t easy and Farrah says you have to push yourself to get better. Debra says true love means working hard and Farrah is pretty nice. Kim, Tyler’s mom, comes to see Nova. Cate tells her about the box of Carly’s clothes Teresa sent. Cate calls Teresa to say thanks and says she loves having the stuff. She takes her off speaker to talk in private. Kim asks Teresa if she got the photo and Teresa said she can’t tell them apart and told Cate she’ll love Nova too. Cate says she feels like they’re all intertwined.
Taylor and Maci go out to dinner and she asks if he’s used to the idea of having a little girl and he asks if it bothers her that they’re not engaged. She says when it comes to her image, yes. He says he wants to be in a new house before the baby comes and says the house is already too small. She says they can’t afford a much bigger house. Maci says if they got in a hurry, they would settle. Taylor says they’re just f-d anyway and they get into an argument. She asks if he needs a hug and he says not from her.
She asks if he knows what kind of ring to get her and she says she already feels like they’re married and he says she bitches like a married woman and she glares at him. Matt leave and Amber takes a call from her brother. He says it’s a little soon for an engagement and asks how much she knows about him. Amber says they have an undeniable connection and Bubby says Matt may have ulterior motives. She says she had the same fears that it was about the show and who she is.
Bubby says he just wants her to be happy and begs her not to get married and says he’ll snap. He says this needs to be done the right way. She says okay. Debra watches Farrah kiss Simon. Tyler and Cate play with baby Nova. Taylor rubs his head whle Maci drives – he looks annoyed. Amber looks thoughtfully at her ring.
